Well that's getting into another issue altogether, this about what would be acceptable under lawful punishments, interrogations on grounds for national security and stuff are totally different.

Your assumption is correct. Switzerland recently got rid of their death penalty, but they never used it anyway...

I believe that the UK last hung someone in 54 or 52, not sure and i think because of commonwealth regulations nobody who is in the commonwealth (Canada, Australia, NZ etc) can execute anyone for non treason/espionage purposes.
I dont think its a Commonwealth thing, since Canada also got rid of the possibility for using death penalty not too many years ago. I dont think the UK are allowed to execute anyone in peacetime.

Incidentally, a friend of mine was hit by a train. He's not dead, just had a broken leg (well, shattered, but still...). Lucky sod.

Nah they can for treason, high treason etc, but they actually bother to declare and yet somehow can be at peace at the same time, totally retarded!

See it would never work as a policy, we'd be disabling folks and effectively putting them on welfare for committing a crime...

Your railroad infastructure sucks monkey balls! 100 km/h is more than enough to kill someone with a train though.

I'm not sure about now, mainly because it can get a teacher shot. But when I was a kid, the teacher with the hall pass/wooden paddle combo was someone you listened to. And you NEVER gave him any shit.

Heh with all the subsidies both our countries and in your case, continent give to Boeing/Airbus maybe we should start getting our money's worth by dropping folks out of planes 30 000 feet in the air?

I would rather drop them into a volcano, then we would save cremation expenses too.

Considering the title of the thread and considering the thread has turned toward who can demonstrate that they have a more sadistic nature than others, I am beginning to chuckle quite a bit.

It's been done already. I don't know that it would any more dissuasive than whatever method you currently use, anyway.

Re: Texan 'hero' shoots and kills burglars at neighbours'

It has been done already? I mean like as a form of cpatial punishment and this being a method of execution! Obviously this is just all in humor and not serious btw, but i would be intriguedto figure out if the person drpped from a plane would actually land in a volcano! Currently barring about 3 states all we can do is really use the lethal injection method.
