Or, better yet, don't be an asshole and have a gun.

If you're constantly seeking to mis-represent what I write, then I suppose that's how you could stretch to get that out of there...

It was a question. You said:

So was that aimed at everyone or me or just Texans or what??

Paranoid, much?

It was aimed at assholes. Better that if they're going to continue to be assholes that they not have guns.

Are you an asshole? That's up to you.

Are only Texans assholes? Clearly not.

Are all Texans assholes? Probably not.

Not sure why this is so hard.

I think he said: Don't be a person who has both of the following qualities:

Asshole
Gun possession

If it's as cut & dried as you claim it is, then why is a grand jury going to hear the case? Why would they even bother?

The question remains whether or not his life was really in danger & whether or not he had permission from or was requested by his neighbors to protect their property.

He could still very easily be indicted & I hope he is. Then convicted of murder.

Maybe there are still a few civilized people in Texas.

Humph.

Guy probably still claims he did nothing wrong at all. I know people who feel perfectly justified in murdering someone for setting so much as a little toe across the doorstep.

And yet my calls for revision amd/or clarification of the 2nd Amendment go ridiculed.

P.S.: And you, yourself, Jimbo (on a South Park episode at least) think it's perfectly okay to shoot anything as long as you say "It's comin' right for us!" first!

Re: Texan 'hero' shoots and kills burglars at neighbours'

And a Texas grand jury has declined to indict him:

Quote:
HOUSTON, Texas (AP) -- A Texas man who shot and killed two men he suspected of burglarizing his neighbor's home was cleared in the shootings Monday by a grand jury.

Joe Horn, 61, shot the two men in November after he saw them crawling out the windows of a neighbor's house in the Houston suburb of Pasadena.

Horn called 911 and told the dispatcher he had a shotgun and was going to kill the men. The dispatcher pleaded with him not to go outside, but Horn confronted the men with a 12-gauge shotgun and shot both in the back.

"The message we're trying to send today is the criminal justice system works," Harris County District Attorney Kenneth Magidson said.

I still don't agree with what Horn did one bit, but the Grand Jury no-billed him.

Matt

Yup, no surprise, last week the DA as good as admitted there was no chance the grand jury were gonna indict him.

Good news.

I've never said i value the lives of those trying to do me harm. I don't know where you would have gotten that idea.

Perhaps you are, once again, projecting?

Yeah - pretty much. If i don't know you, I don't care about you except in the abstract. If you're trying to do me harm, I don't care about you at all.

Frankly I do not understand the mentality of caring for all equally. If you do that, then your family, your very flesh and blood, is of no greater importance than Charles Manson. THAT is a truly sick and deranged view.

Yep - and the grand jury agrees with him.

If you were not invited to do so, you have committed a crime. It is NOT murder to stop a crime in progress.

Its been clarified. Your calls have never been ridiculed on that point. Now, you may disagree with said clarification, but tough shit.

Yeah, generally those of us willing to defend others, third party and their property if need be from intruders.
