Re: NYPD officers acquitted of all charges in shooting of Sean Bell

The key is reasonable it is not reasonable to think everyone is carrying a gun. Just as it is not reasonable to think I am going to do your homework. If I did the education would be mine not yours.

Here is what you said:

"Do you think a reasonable person...could think that a gun could be in the car"

Well, it has been proven that, given the size of a firearm, and the size of their car, that a firearm COULD be in their car. However, that is true for pretty much ALL cars. Thus, a reasonable person could think it.

Someone should tell them that bad press can be prevented by not abusing prisoners in the first place. Censorship is only needed to preserve the good reputation of those who have tortured and/or murdered already.

A gun could be in practically any car on the planet. Given their size, they can also be on any clothed person, and perhaps even on some unclothed ones.

Again, if that's the only criteria required to point a gun at someone, then you can point a gun at practically any person at any time they are in public. You're giving my criteria that is so broad it would be difficult to find someone or something on the planet (and perhaps off of it) that does not fit the description. You might as well ask me if a person could theoretically emit a sound.

OldMarine, I might suggest that it's not worth your time. Some here will carry every "argument" to the most absurd level that they can.

Here is what he said:

"Do you think a reasonable person...could think that a gun could be in the car"

Can you please point out even one car that does NOT fit that description?

Your ignorance and disdain for the law do not excuse your taking every argument to the highest level of absurdity.

Now move along. You're growing tedious.

The key phrase here is "the car". In context, it would mean Bell's car during the time and place in which the shooting occurred.

One must take statements in context for them to have any meaning.

I never said it was the only requirement. Do you think by the same events. late at night high crime area people arguing and again someone saying get my gun that a crime was about to be committed. again a reasonable person still applies.

If my argument is absurd, then perhaps you could point out at least one car. Pretty please?

Again, ANY car fits that description. Can a reasonable person think that, given that set of info available then, a gun was in Bell's car? Yes. Same could be said of ANY car. That is my problem with such a regulation: too broad and puts a shitload of innocent people in the meat grinder.

Being in a high-crime area or at night does not make you a criminal. Neither does arguing or kidding about a gun. It does not warrant threatening that person with a gun.

For fuck's sake, Slon. Give it a fucking rest. Call yourself a "winner" or whatever you need to move on, but do so. You clearly don't even have the most basic understanding of what you're talking about.
