A federal judge ruled today that graphic pictures of detainee abuse at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison must be released over government claims that they could damage America's image. Someone should tell them that bad press can be prevented by not abusing prisoners in the first place. Censorship is only needed to preserve the good reputation of those who have tortured and/or murdered already. |

Given the horrific nature of the crime, if you had a problem with it would've voiced your opinion of it by now. You have not... |

Could sure use one now, as you're really being boring right now. Ask a question pertinent to the case at hand, and I'll entertain the possibility of responding. Continue doing what you're doing, though; asking the same, tired, non-pertinent question, and I will not... |

Re: Those Fun Lovin' Illegals...
What you need to come to grips with is the fact that I believe it's not pertinent. In fact, I believe it to be asinine.
I'll get through the day, just fine, with the understanding that you do not. Again, your continued asking of a question makes it no more relevant, and no more deserving of a response... |

I am an American. That's the way most of us put it, just matter of factly. They are plain words, those four: you could write them on your thumbnail, or sweep them clear across this bright autumn sky. But remember too, that they are more than just words. They are a way of life. So whenever you speak them, speak them firmly, speak them proudly, speak them gratefully. I am an American. ...a tradition |

Sexual assaults occur with disturbing frequency in the US. What you have constistently failed to demonstrate is that the perpetrator's immigration status had anything to do with the crime that he committed. And as far as "one" being hard-pressed to conclude that I have anything but disgust at the crime? Well, I suspect the only "one" is you. Not that I give 2 shits about your opinion anyway.

It's impossible to say what would/wouldn't happen if an individual weren't in the country (or on the planet for that matter). The minute differences that each of us make create vast changes in how things happen. Would it be great to say that if that guy hadn't been here illegally that the crime wouldn't have happened? Of course. Is it realistic? Who's to say? I'm not sure that even the exercise of guessing about what-ifs is really worth the effort.
