Here's the thing, Slappy: Our Navy has a much more solemn duty to guard our shores than it does to guard the Somali cost.

Also, "territorial waters" and "international waters" mean something. You should look them up, and then explain under what provision of international maritime law it's dictated that the US Navy should provide the security for the Somali coast...

It'll be interesting to see what they do if they don't get paid...

Re: Somali Officials Suspicious Of Citizen's New Oil Tanker

Looks like pirates are making an awful lot of money right now and this current situation will likely be headed the same way:

FOXNews.com - Pirates Collect $150M Over Past Year at Expense of Global Economy - International News | News of the World | Middle East News | Europe News

I can't see this now being resolved any other way than paying up the ransom.

Unfortunately this wll probably just embolden the wannabe pirates.

But by the next time hopefully there will be better pre-emptive measures in place, like armed patrols and stuff.

I dunno if anybody still cares about this but the Sirus was released by the pirates a few days ago for a ransom of $3 million. They wanted 25 million. Looks like everything ended quite peacefully in the end.

And on their way back to mainland Somalia they got caught up in a storm and 8 of them drowned along with most of the ransom money, and they lost their boat too!

God sent the storm and killed the pirates...or you could figure some way to think there was a government behind something and that it was covered up as being a storm. Either way is fine....
