Of course they're gonna have sex. That's why kids have to be taught values, i. e. like how to have intimate sex only in a committed relationship, not just w/any cute boy or teacher in the hallway. Best way to do that is to scare them w/real statistics on STDs.

Here's a thought: How about instilling in them a sense of self-respect? Maybe explain to them how just hooking up with anything that comes along isn't really a good idea? Explain the concepts of pregnancy and personal responsibility.... You know - the ways that worked for thousands of years before the CDC came along.....

Yes, that'll work. Unfortunately, there are still too many lousy parents who teach their sons chauvinistic crap like "You don't have to love 'em to knock 'em!" or "you see a piece of meat, go for it!" Plus, many parents simply set a bad example for their kids w/their own infidelities.

And then there's the Fundamentalist religious conservative extreme, where daughters are taught that they must be submissive and chaste if they're to be good wives later in life or that their sons have to act masculine or controlling to be a "real man."

Self-respect/appreciation really is the key, but it's hard to teach kids that in the face of all the silly sexual stereotypes that permeate mainstream society.

I agree along the lines of what you two said. When I was a 17 y/o high schooler and was ever given the chance to bounce beds and study halls with a teacher that looks and is built like that, I'd have considered myself in Seventh Heaven and would strut with honkers with a big notch on the belt.

That said, actual school work wouldn't have been my focus. My escapades with her would have been the focus. That defeats the purpose of being in school. That's about as big a distraction to the purpose of being in school as it gets.

Such flings also breeds an enviroment of corruption of the educational process in other fashions, such as a distrust in grading, e.g., the odds being he gets lighter treatment, inflated grades, etc, all at the expense of attention and fairness to other students. Then there is the basic trust of society placed in a high school at issue. Confidence in the school system is eroded when teachers are fucking rather than teaching academics to their kids.

Moreover, what if the guy gets her pregnant? Would his parents who pay school taxes and want their son to get a proper education want to see their own son set back in life by a very premature pregnancy and teenage fatherhood?

And then there is the minor himself. If a child is produced, he'll be tied to her forever. She's definitely older and the age gaps do become more relevant in time blocks when still in the teenage process. People change quickly in the teenage years and mature. Very quickly he may not want to be with her, especially if she's a headcase or whatever. But, if she gets pregnant, now he's stuck with her in his life forever with child support or custody and the burdens of being a teenage parent insofar as ability to prepare himself for his future.

The fact that this is a horny 17 y/o male banging a hot teacher is disarming to the above issues due to stereotypes about men--especially teenage men--having high sex drives. It's the stuff comedy and porno films are made, but that is fantasy and shouldn't be reality.

Let's change the circumstances away from the present disarming case based on the stereotype of men/male fantasy of male students banging a hot teacher. What would people say if it was a hot male gym teacher banging teenage high school women who have the hots for him (and especially if he got them pregnant)? I bet more people would find that less amusing. And if women teachers are allowed to do it, then it stands to reason that male teachers can do it or else the Equal Protection Clause get implicated.

How about ugly men and women teachers using baits like passing grades and other incentives (allowed to cut class, cheat, etc) in order to bang high school males and females? Or students using booty to hopefully persuade homely loner teachers to do any of that, or blackmail them? Or how about male or female teachers taking advantage of gullible, emotionally weak and/or troubled teenage students in order to seduce them?

It's all the above and other reasons I could cite that makes what she did no laughing matter and worthy of prosecution.

I'm a 16-17 year old girl in High school and in walks the new teacher. 23 years old, goatee, white shirt with the sleeves rolled up and jeans. You bet your sweet ass, I'd hit it.

I only had one teacher who came close to that but he looked like Ben Folds.


They should outlaw hot teachers.

My fiance and I prefer to let them know, at an acceptable age, that we know they are going to have sex and that they can come to us before they do so and we will make sure they are safe before they do so. Being safe can involve birth control and/or actual advice about what is going on. No incrimination. No masculine posturing in my case (ie the cleaning the shotgun method). The knowledge that it is their body and their choice and no one else can make that choice for them. I can't. Their mothers can't. The person they are dating can't make that decision. Only they can. We let them know we just want them to be safe.
This method teaches that they, and only they, are in charge of their destiny and what they do with or allow to be done to their bodies. A flip side to that is telling them that the person their dating when their 13-18 aren't very likely to be the love of their life.
