doesnt help that I'm fretting about the VA Tech girl who went missing after a concert in Charlittsville. we went past the JPJ Arena Sunday.

I dont know her or like that, just hard when you have kids, expecially daughters as in this case.

That's my "theory."

We've seen plenty of these cases already. Pedophile gets busted, does his sentence and gets released (Joseph Duncan is one recent case), then moves on to doing what he does. Adding murder into the mix.

A lot of people have. Not enough though. I took part in signature gathering for a onestrike law a few years ago. It fell short.

People are indifferent until it's one of their own kids that kids messed with and/or killed it seems.

So we keep seeing them happen.

What's the alternative? Let these monsters spend a few short years in prison before being released to prey on other children? I think pedophiles AND rapists should be given the death penalty and if they were, by step-daughter's ten year old cousin wouldn't have been violently raped and murdered by a convicted rapist.

DP for rape? Why not just demand it for all forms of felony battery?

We keep seeing most of them happen because most children are harmed by a family member, a friend or a trusted person not a stranger involved with the penal system.

Rape is usually committed by men against women, who are by nature, the weaker sex, which IMO, makes rape far worse than two guys beating the hell out of each other with tire irons.
