It could be any number of things. And as I said before, if it's revealed that it does have something to do with PTSD, than we need to understand that shit instead of censoring it or continuing to repress it the way our society is prone to do.

Right know, we do not know why this attack took place.

Here's what we do know - there are up to 40,000 families worried about their loved ones right now. My neighbor's kid is at Ft. Hood, and they can't get any information yet. They don't even know if he was in the same area of the base or, God forbid, a victim.

Once - just once - could we at least wait until the victims are identified and the bodies are cool before starting a bunch of political / religious finger pointing?

Show some human compassion, for fuck's sake......

They should never have been trusted before this, but PCness demands we all ignore its body counts, and make up stupid shit to handwave it away, like making idiotic posts about Timothy McVeigh.

I'd much prefer to hash all this over from every different possible angle rather than just offering condolences and waiting around......waiting around for what?

If this ends up being SJS (Sudden Jihad Syndrome), than we need to have an adult national conversation about the implications of that, too, because there are plenty of good Arab-Americans in the military who could be at risk of a heinous backlash from freerepublic type losers who insist on injecting emotion into everything instead of stopping and thinking.

I say we should talk about all this shit and leave the emotional crap to the people who were actually involved in this tragedy, because from what little we do know, some people's true colors are already seeping out.
