I don't think it will be bothered with pursuing such a charge. The big case was this one and she beat the big charges. Where she will pay any penalties will be in how the public judges her and I presume it won't be pleasant. If I were her, I'd ask for a ride back with the border coyotes because in the US she's going to be on the Top 10 hated list for a very long while and never on a one-on-one meeting be viewed well once the hype dies down.

I'd hate to hink that further taxpayer money may now have to be used in protecting her against any potential threat and what not - as it is SD's are outside the Anthony family home and will likely be there for some considerable time, upto and dependant on what happens at sentencing come Thursday.

She might get some threats from some cranks for awhile as well as other harassment but it will die down eventually as the public moves onto other cases they wish to follow.

Unless she gets a book deal out of this, Florida taxpayers will end up supporting her because I don't see anyone giving her a job any time soon.
I'm watching 48 Hours right now and I just don't understand how anyone could think she's not guilty.

You learn something new everyday...don't see Casie picking up a gig writing art and literary reviews though like he did. If she does end up picking up welfare money, is there any recourse for the residents of the state to try stop it?

WTF are you talking about? There is a fuckload of physical evidence demonstrating beyond a reasonable doubt that OJ murdered two people.

There's no physical evidence that the death that this thread is about is even due to a murder.

Common sense says Casey is guilty. Apparently the jury didn't think the prosecutors proved that she committed the crime. I guess this is a crime that will go unpunished like so many others. Too bad.

There's a good chance that she's guilty of first degree murder, but the prosecution didn't even demonstrate that a murder occurred. There's a sharp distinction between "quite possibly guilty" and "almost certainly guilty".

A lot more innocent people will be wrongfully locked up or executed if the Constitution is changed, or reinterpreted, to permit conviction based on mere probable guilt. Scott Petersen is probably guilty, but the only physical evidence presented was a piece of hair. In the current case, the jury understood what "reasonable doubt" means, and in the Petersen case, apparently they did not (or let their emotions sway them due to his cheating and the wife's pregnancy).
