Love this new book! Let the red and blue states have their own countries!

When I saw this book, I knew I had to have it. Having read it, I had to bring it to this forum. Red or Blue? This Book is 4 U. by Bob Jackson (ISBN 9780615531229, 120 pages, $10, Amazon or Kindle) proposes that red states and blue states separate into two separate and sovereign countries. The plan includes a constitutional amendment to establish the division. The national debt is divided on a per capita basis. The armed forces are divided fairly as are all other federal assets (except foreign embassies). Each new country would print its own money which will exchange 1:1 for the old US dollar for a two year transitional period.

Think about it. The liberals could implement all of their self destructive policies and ruin their country with no further interference from conservatives. Conservatives can restore their country to its former greatness and implement additional amendments to prevent laws like Obamacare from ever coming around again. We could strengthen gun ownership rights. Texans won't have to bail out Californians. We will just be shedding dead wood!

All US citizens will have dual citizenship for five years to allow for the massive political migration. Works for me. I'll even donate bus fare to relocate some of my blue, occupy easy street, friends the hell out of here.

Hey! The romantic in me doesn't like seeing our country split up but it's headed down the toilet. The US I grew up in is almost gone. At least one part of the greatest nation on the face of the earth can survive. In 20 years the Red side could probably buy the Blue half back; although I can't think of a good reason why.

Liberals will never convince conservatives to become liberal and vice versa. So why not split it up and get on with our lives!
What was once a constitutional republic, the envy of the world, of, for, and by the people, has descended into a government by lawyers, for the highest bidder, of the uneducated mob.

    I'm not moving.

If you administratively separate the top thirty or so major metropolitan areas from their host states, set them up as districts like DC, give them federal representation in the form of one Senator each, and a parliamentary style weighted vote in the House, and then leave the rest of the states alone, you can have the urban areas be as crazy as they want without coming up to Albany to poison the rest of the state.

Bring it on, I'll be in a lib state, guess what keep your cold dead hands off my guns. The first thing to go corporate ownership of government. Then half the defense budget and China trade. We will build our own computers and televisions.

Btw you do know the red states opposed to federal spending get the most federal outlays don't you?

If you wind up on the lib side the government will confiscate your gun so they can take away the rest of your rights.

You are wrong about the first thing to go. It will be the corporations and the private jobs will go with them. Enjoy working for the government! Well at least there will be no commercials to interrupt your Oprah Windbag show; Just some commie propaganda which you will watch on your government issue 3 channel TV or else.

Computer? Wont be able to get on this forum unless you like reeducation camp. China will look like a utopia compared to your lib states.

Why does intellect always "scramble" for commie divide and conquer, when corporations are so happy with enslaved commie labor? Is there logic in that? You don't like commies unless you make a profit off them. Confusing?

So while being fixated at hating the people who make your goods (commies) as you swap economies with China, keep in mind the poorer you get its all OK. Instead of states you will be provinces of China.

Also in a mixed Keynesian economy ... what part of industry is collectively owned by the state?

As I stated good luck prying a gun from any liberal hand in my state ... that's a lot of hands and guns.

Unless it is spent in your state. Texas is a red state and is a net federal tax donor. Last I checked, Texans pay more federal taxes than is spent back in the state. A troubling statistic when you consider the federal govt spends more than it collects from all sources. On the other side, Blue California gets more federal money spent in their state than Californians pay in federal taxes. The biggest part of the federal budget (manditory spending) is steered by where the beneficiaries live. So if you are on medicare or unemployment for example, that federal spending moves from state to state when you do.

So my money leaves Texas, goes to Washington DC, gets skimmed, and what is left over goes to California or Michigan.

Since when do liberals as a group stand for the 2nd amendment?

It will never work. Most of the red states are too dependent on the federal dole to make it on their own. Plus Texas would demand special status or set up on its own within a short time anyway. It would be funny for me though because I live in an extremely reactionary area that would be part of the new blue country. There would be many exploding heads in my town.

I think we should all be allowed to own tow missiles. And half the hunters I know vote dem on a regular basis. So while support for unfettered gun ownership is not the majority position on the left, there are millions of us who "stand" for the 2nd amendment.

Like this? Red states get more back then they pay in.

It makes for an interesting sound byte but I don't know how much is really there. A good portion of those states are made up of huge populations of poor minorities who would almost certainly leave the new conservative nation in favor of the liberal nation while the majority of people in those red states probably didn't want the government money to begin with.

If something like this every came to fruition I imagine the liberal nation would be bankrupt in a week and conquered by the conservative in two.
