Ibm 305 Ramac

I laugh every time I see pics like this. I remember when my late husband (then-boyfriend) bought his Tandy 8088...I thought it was just a big paperweight!

We've come a long way, baby!

I imagine in 30 years the notebook will look equally ancient. I can hear the kids now, "you actually typed into the computer? How lame!".

Yep! My kids laughed at my old manual typewriter. I eventually threw it out, along with my dot matrix printer and thermal scanner!!!

Re: Ibm 305 Ramac

Your a better person than I, having the ability to dispose of old toys. I kept my 1994 vintage Toshiba laptop computer around for years, even though it wouldn't even boot up anymore. I kept it for two reasons:

1. I'm a packrat, somewhere I have bluejeans from my high school years.
2. I paid over 3k for the thing; the upgraded hard drive (80 vs 40 MB) and vast amount of memory (12 MB) added agreat deal to the cost.

I'm somewhat of a packrat...still have my pep squad uniform from 1972, concert t-shirts from the late 70's and on, but when it comes to bulky items, I've got to draw the line because I've got too much "junk" in my attic already!!!
