if organics are found we can make a determination perhaps, if life was ever or if it ever can be sppted, at least life as we understand it.

Re: The Phoenix Has Landed
Okay, here you go. This will take you straight to the gallery.
Phoenix Mars Mission - Gallery Oh, and if you want to explore all that's happening on Mars or above Mars. This website will take you anywhere you want to go as far as the active orbiters, rovers etc go. Mars Exploration: Home

Re: The Phoenix Has Landed
Agreed, NASA is easily the most experienced space agency in the world. Kinda interesting really because its really been a international effort with Phoenix. I mean we have a weather station on Mars for the first time ever (if I'm not mistaken), thanks to the Canadians. Its nice though, to see NASA moving away from doing it all on their own and more just providing the expertise. I mean the University of Arizona is heading this project with the partnership of other universities again if I'm not mistaken. So, spread out the science to institutions that are only too happy to be involved and in the end it just means more science gets done.
I just hope the goal of completing the Orion spacecraft doesn't kill the funding for the robotic missions that actually get science done.

I love the weather icon for "sunny with dust activity".
Way cool.

Re: The Phoenix Has Landed
![]() They took a look under the lander, and considering the lander did a bit of landing as it landed with its thrusters its pretty neat. That harder substance there is possibly ice (though it could be just a reflective rock). ![]() Look, a Canadian weather station! ![]() Another weather report.

Re: The Phoenix Has Landed
![]() My goodness, its a footprint on Mars! So what if it was made by the scoop on the landers arm. Or was it? Anyway, that's about it, no new pictures just yet. So without starting a new thread, the shuttle launch! ![]() Oh, and just because I'm tired of everyone bitching about the space program my summarization of the facts in 10 words or less. Entitlement programs cost more, defense cost more.

Re: The Phoenix Has Landed
They made it look easy because it's the same thing they've been doing for years. When they land people on mars and build a colony habitat(which, in my opinion, should and could be done in five and twenty years respectively) I'll be impressed. I think it's time for private industry to start doing NASA's job.
