Re: NCAA Football

If you beat the Tide, that might well complicate things for the Longhorns; whilst it would all but assure that they would drop out of the top 5, it would add complications as to who would face FL for the SEC championship game. May end up being y'all in a head to head if you and the Tide have the same record come the end of the season.

Other than that, its an almost certain battle between one of them and us for the championship game.

We have UCF next week, a walkover for sure.

So, you ready for the Tide?

Can't wait for that match in a few hours...(we have a piss easy game).

Re: NCAA Football

Well we're getting it together against the Knights, we didn't start off too hot though. 21 points unanswered since the middle of the second quarter.

For the last 10 minutes or so i've been watching the Iowa game, who at 9&0 are struggling today with a QB injured too.

I'll have to hold my nose and root for LSU. If Alabama loses, Oregon goes up.

I'm ready! Waiting for the grandbabies to arrive so we can watch it together. Gotta teach the little one to say "LSU...LSU...LSU". We've already got her saying "Go Saints!!!!"

I'm pulling for LSU too...if things stay as they are and Northwestern beat Iowa (they are 7 up with the ball, with less than 3 minutes to go), Oregon will go up some more probably.

If LSU win, th Tide will be out contention for the title game.

I'm also watching the race as its here in Texas too, so i have all but discarded our low scoring game with the Knights.

Kurt Busch is just about holding out, haha. Between that and the Iowa game, its a tense finish everywhere.

Iowa have the ball back with less than 2 minutes to tie the game, they have to make 80 yards+, with no timeouts left.

Ah, I wasn't watching. Tragic if Cinderella Iowa goes down, but if my Ducks go up? Fuck 'em!

Re: NCAA Football

Their QB took a huge hit through the second quarter, crushing hit. If they pull this out, it'll be through sheer determination and grit...this is the highest they have ever been ranked in school history, and they may well move up number 3 if Alabama lose.

Though if things go perfectly for Oregon, and you win, combined with Iowa and Alabama losing you could be up to number 3 yourselves. (I think you deserve it, for the way you've crushed USC this year).

Re: NCAA Football

This is the ball game....Hawkeyes make the first down, 1 minute 40 to go, so Iowa survive a scare. The drama continues.

Re: NCAA Football

Another 4th down, this time with 10 yards to go...again, their season is resting on this next play...

Incomplete, Northwestern wins, only 6 teams now left undefeated.

I can agree with one caveat (other than hating the BCS): the pesky loss to Boise would logically place us below them, although their schedule is weak and we've played (and beaten) teams that were, at one point of the season or another, ranked #4, 6, 7, 17 and 18, including a victory which ended a 17 game winning streak.

Re: NCAA Football

Yeah, for the reason that your schedule is so much tougher, i would see you as being above both Boise, and TCU. Cincinati are still going strong too, so you may well need other results to go you way as well.

But the problem is, that while you would almost certainly leap-frog Alabama, if the Tide lost, LSU may jump above you and possibly Boise too, if they pull out the win. Given the rest of the match ups, i think Iowa may well drop down out of the top 10, which is a shame for them, given how well they have played until now.

Re: NCAA Football

TD, LSU!

A few injuries through the game, and as expected the defenses have been tough.

Re: NCAA Football

Wow, Stanford are really making a game of it against the Ducks!

23-7 at the moment.
