If assholes want to think that the southerners are referring to slavery, let them, but don't go changing our mascots and song just because those PC assholes are too stupid to understand.

Yeah i'm not in favor of this PC crap either, they were justified in their protest today, and the way most papers and sites have described it as a "brief" protest and "organized", they have all given it the legitimacy it deserves imo.

Tang is still banned out for now so it might just be me and you in the thread for today but his Ducks have the chance to have their destiny in their own hands after tonight. If they beat Auburn then they can win out their games to take the Pac10. A win for OH state will assure them the Big 10 and the number 1 and 2 ranked teams (both SEC) are demolishing their respective opponents.

Something has to give in this game as Ole Miss have won 7 out of their last 8 at home and LSU have won their last 9 in a row in the state of Mississippi.

The rivalry between LSU and Ole Miss has always been fun, especially growing up with friends who were originally from Mississippi. I think the teams are fairly equal this year but Ole Miss has the home field advantage so I can't be sure LSU can win. If they were playing at Death Valley, I wouldn't give Ole Miss a snowball's chance in hell of winning.

Ole Miss have started well, good run backs off the kick off and just now off a pick.

They have a good chance of winning today but i think its because there's some real dejection in the LSU (and Ole Miss) camp after both have strugled against better SEC opponents. To me, everyone has fallen short of AL and FL as of late in the SEC. LSU are probably just a tier below imo.

Both camps have struggled but they'll both be playing in bowl games so they'll fight today because they want the best bowl game they can get. I love when LSU plays the Sugar Bowl but the merchants in New Orleans hate it because they don't get the revenue they'd get from two out of state teams.

Yeah, Ole Miss have the same problem with the Cotton Bowl i believe.

I reckon momentum could have swung your way had you beat the Gators as a lot of the games were scarped out wins. One true win might have helped your cause.

And speaking of which, 2 huge calls in this game. 2 TD's for Ole Miss not given, one which was not reviewable but would have been overturned and the ensuing 4th down leads to a block from LSU, run in for a TD. so its 7-3 to LSU instead of 14 - 0 to Ole Miss. And that has been typical of your season to date.

Did you mean to say that Texas loses revenue when a Texas team plays in the Cotton Bowl?

    That block was great!!!!!!

Yeah sorry, i have Ole Miss on my mind atm!

Another correction too from above, OR are playing Arizona, not Auburn.

Yeah, he did get up well. But Ole Miss have had 3 long drives and have 2 FG's to show for it, LSU have had one run back and a pick (along with punt) and have a TD to show for it! Lady luck is smiling on y'all again.

Actually come to think of it, Ole Miss have had 3 long plays, one in each drive and messed up a couple shots at the end zone so maybe the score is a fair reflection of the game.

Now LSU go down the field, TD!

Ole Miss with a TD - the go ahead score, what an effort. All the penalties against them in the last LSU drive and yet they still got the ball back and went down the field and scored!

And a fumble on the next play (even though recovered) costing LSU more ground, having to punt. This game hangs in the balance, only 5 points with most of the 4th quarter to go.

    Re: NCAA Football

A huge stop by the LSU defense...restricting the Rebels to a FG and its still a one play game. If they dont get the 2 PAT they'll have to go onside which is why i figured Miles kept his timeout and didn't call it there and then.

Or maybe he really was asleep!
