What the fuck is the BBVA Compass Bowl??
A college football bowl game ...
"There is no gain in arguing with a poo flinging monkey. While his
gibbering and raucous cries of victory may seem obnoxious in your ears
as you walk away, he will soon be quietly sitting behind his bars again
and licking his own feces off his fingers as you carry on with your day."
Thank you, Captain Obvious.
I can remember back when there was the Rose Bowl, the Orange Bowl, the Sugar Bowl and, well, that was about it.
Nowadays, it seems like the NCAA is so concerned about someone not getting into a Bowl game that they're manufacturing nonsense, mean-nothing football games...
Its not about feelings, its about money. Do you know the expected take for the University of Arkansas for the 2011 Sugar Bowl? $18 million dollars. I was flabbergasted.
(Btw, not many here are older than me, and I remember that there have been regional post season games of all kinds for decades. There is a ton of money in these post season games.)

Until there's the "Kohler Toilet Bowl", it'll all be stupid...

Again with the politics? What is it with you guys? How is it that even stupid jokes about sports can be political in your world?
Lemme walk you down this road......
Steve's comment about a "Kohler Toilet Bowl" was marginally humorous only because is was the first comment of its type in this thread. The subsequent comments by you and Moonglow sucked ass because they were neither unique or took the conversation off in a new and entertaining direction. In fact, the comments were straight up in line with yet another string of lame attempts at humor on a subject that has been beaten into the ground over and over and over.
Look, I like you guys. You make me happy that I'm not you. I just want to see you improve yourselves and develop an individual presence on this forum. I want to see style and creativity! I want to see passion without hostility! I want to see a little "joie da vive" and "ars gratia artis". Maybe a little "Grey Poupon" and "amicus curiae". Basically, I want to see anything but stale jokes about stale subjects presented in a manner that has been flogged to death.
You know, they've got a Turkey BLT now that's pretty good.
I asked the original question because it seems like, every year, there's at least one new "bowl game". Just seems kinda' silly to me. I don't follow college sports (although I watch the Army/Navy game every year), so I don't really care, but it still seems silly...
