Christina Aguillera can sing. The girl's definitely got some pipes.
The stupid bitch needs to take a cue from Obama and get herself a teleprompter. Fucking up the lyrics to the National Anthem is inexcusable. She says she got "caught up in the moment"? Shit, children have successfully sang that song in front of stadiums full of people and pulled it off.
The halftime show sucked. Big time. I don't know who the NFL uses to hire "talent" for the halftime show, but that person should be shown the door.
What a piss-poor display.
The game was pretty good, though...

What is it about the US national anthem and major sporting events, especially the Super Bowl?
It seems to get screwed up more often than not.
I realize that the US national anthem is very hard to sing, the tune was after all based on an old English drinking song. (You were not drunk if you could still sing it.)
I would think that any singer picked of the honour of singing the anthem at a major event would at least take time out to practice it once or twice before making an ass of themselves in front of an audience of a couple hundred million people. Or are they just drunk?
I always find it strange that only reasonable people agree with me.
SHe's a Mexican, do u really think she cares?

As far as Aguillera is concerned John Nolte said it best:
Big Hollywood Blog Archive Christina Aguilera: The NFL Knows How to Honor America, Hollywood Can’t Even Remember the WordsNot being a fan, I don’t normally watch a lot of football or even Super Bowl games. But my wife has been a Packer fanatic her entire life, we were invited to a party, and as I watched the pre-game today I was simply blown away (and moved) by how passionately the NFL puts its love for America and our troops out there for the entire world to see.
Hey, maybe that’s why the Super Bowl embarrasses the Academy Awards in the ratings year after year?
But when it was Hollywood’s turn to turn on the patriotism, one of their biggest stars couldn’t even remember the words to her own National Anthem. And obviously she hadn’t rehearsed enough to pretend she did.
Normally, I’m pretty forgiving of this kind of flub, but the symbolism here is simply too rich to ignore.
Some fifteen years ago, I attended a heavyweight title fight in Nashville. George Jones sang the National Anthem and it was quite simply the most beautiful rendition I’ve ever heard. Simple and heartfelt, and though I’m no country music fan, I’ve never forgotten it.
What a contrast. No wonder the NFL and country music continue to thrive as DVD sales sink and pop music collapses.
Oh, and the Black Eyed Peas stunk the joint up, too.
Oh, and can I ask a Black Eyed Peas question? Is it just me (I'm lame w/ today's music... so I'm told by my teenagers) or do the Peas only have one song? Or do all their songs just sound alike?
On another note, the game was the best in years...
Been there, done that, and even though I know several of the stanzas, it is difficult to remember the first one, as it words just seem out of place.
What I hate about it, are those that feel they must give their own little versions, and do not sing it according to the music that was written. Obviously, she cannot hit the high notes, but most people can't and still sing the rest of it according to the way it was written.
Agreed, the half-time show mostly sucked, but we're all probably a bit too old to enjoy anything they'd put on. I know having Waylon, Willie and the boys putting on the show wouldn't really be a big hit, even thought I'd save it.
The game was worthy of being a "SUPERBOWL", even though I like both teams equally well.

The production was less than optimal.
You know.. shit like missing simple queues like which mic is supposed to be turned on.
At least Fergie didn't piss her pants again.
Christina Aguilera sucked.
The Black Eyed Peas sucked (though, they've pretty much sucked ever since selling out in massive, massive proportions. They've pretty much made selling out an art form. I almost can't hate them for how brilliantly they pulled it all off).
Game was awesome.

I don't know who the hell designed the costumes for the Black Eyed Peas, but they've watched too much Tron.
And the part of the show where the one guy had the big read glowing heart on his jacket? Looked like a Leather Pride CareBear.

I'm kind of busy today, so if you could go ahead and offend yourself on my behalf, that would be great....
Steve, who cares. The Superbowl isn't about the National Anthem & the Halftime Show.. it's about bread and circuses. Shut up and enjoy the "entertainment".
