Governor divorces Wife

Not only is this shitbag divorcing her, he's demanding that she pay all the legal fees. I think this might be the reason...

As first lady, Dawn Gibbons established legislative initiatives to combat methamphetamine and increase funding for autism treatment and research.
Most people in Nevada know that Jim is a heartless dumbass and the idea that he'd divorce her for trying to address problems in Nevada wouldn't surprise anyone I know.

Re: Governor divorces Wife

Do you really think the divorce results from political disagreements? Or is there something else underlying this.

If you'd be so kind, please point out where this sentence, is the word "demanding:

I think it's funny that you don't seem to allow for even the possibility that he filed for divorce for the same reasons thousands do every year. It could be infidelity, no sex, he thinks she's a bitch; the list goes on.

But, no. Obviously, it's because she addressed problems as the State's First Lady...

Of course I leave open those other possibilities. However after watching him speak on television and in person, and listening to what another person had to say who know the family fairly well, I came to the conclusion that a political disagreement is at the top of my list for reason of the divorce.

It's the most likely reason as I see it. Jim Gibbons epitomizes most of the worst aspects of what the Republican party has become. His unfavorability ratings are through the roof even though he's only been Governor for approximately 1 1/2 years. He started out of the gate projecting the image of a bumbling fool with his midnight inauguration stupidity.

You forgot to point out where the article you linked to said he was "demanding" that she pay all legal fees.

Thanks so much...

The article states his divorce filing asks that she pay all legal fees, that would be considered a legal demand, an unusual circumstance unless she has more personal weath than him. I looked at their bios and didn't see her as accumulating a lot of personal wealth other than being a founding member of Sierra Bank, unless there was a recent big inheritance and there's no info on her parents.

I resided in Nevada for a number of years, was active in the Republican party at the time and he is an unimaginative, dull party dog while she's extremely talented and bright.

No it wouldn't. It's a request to the court, nothing more.

But you don't like him, so let's say he's "demanding" it...

And the fact that he might be an idiot, and she might be the greatest mind since Einstein, has absolutely nothing to do with the divorce, unless he filed for divorce because she makes him feel like an idiot...

IMO the latter and because for whatever reason(s) the marriage just wore out. The egos of two office-holding politicians under one roof is an ongoing cold war at best. Add in a failing marriage and the thrill is gone.

Huh... interesting that the original article didn't mention any of that. It wouldn't be pertinent to the divorce case, but "pertinent" is something that's never stopped the press before...

That link offers nothing. There's no Wikipedia page entitled "Jim Gibbons United States Politician", and I'm not about to go hunting for it.

I'm honestly not that interested in the whole thing...

Came up for me, first google line, maybe I screwed-up the link:

Jim Gibbons - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My only interest is from having lived there for a number of years, knowing the state and who the players are. Typical sleazy politician regardless of the state, a buddy of CA's Cunningham (but I doubt he does visitation).
