I really don't give a rats ass what they do in San Francisco. If they want to be known for naming their sewage treatment plant after Bush, then so be it.

How childish can they get?

Early in my life I tried to always understand and cooperate with contrary opinions. As I have grown older I now understand that some people aren't worth the effort. They object just for the sake of creating an annoyance. Now I just do all I can to win a conservative agenda. Screw the friggin libs that pull this kind of disrespect. I think I'll work with the Senator of Nevada to get the Mustang Ranch renamed to the:

BJ CLINTON WESTERN LIBRARY

The David Vitter Ranch would be more appropriate, since Vitter is the one who likes the hookers.

Like Stripey said, a sperm bank and a dry cleaner would be better named after Bill Clinton.

I'm with you. I hope it passes.

I'm sorry to say this . . . truly. But this is so ridiculous!

Doing things like naming a sewage treatment plant after your political rival is something right out of junior high. As a matter of fact, I know JH kids that are more mature than that. And saying Vitter likes hookers too just adds to the low brow tone.

This isn't debate. It doesn't even qualify as discussion. It's just vindictive, mean-spirited mud slinging. I want no part of it. But some folks are arroused by it and our politicians prey on them once every two years.

It's a matter of record: Vitter DOES like hookers.

Re: The George W Bush Sewage Plant

I felt like reviving this old thread for a valid purpose: the ballot initiative was soundly defeated by the SF residents:

Quote:
Plan for 'Bush' sewage plant rejected

November 6, 2008 - 10:27AM

Most presidents have airports, libraries and schools named after them.

But such is the unpopularity of US President George W Bush that liberal activists in San Francisco proposed to rename a city sewage plant after him.

The activists earlier this year gathered enough signatures to propose a ballot measure to rename the city-owned Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant to the George W Bush Sewage Plant.

However, official tallies released on Wednesday showed that voters in the stridently liberal city baulked at handing out such an insult to the elected leader of their country.

They rejected the measure by a vote of 69 per cent to 31 per cent.

In another controversial ballot measure, San Francisco voters rejected a measure to decriminalise prostitution and ban police from arresting prostitutes and their customers. The measure was defeated by 58 per cent to 42 per cent.

I guess the hookers and johns aren't too happy today but Bush will be...as will others who didn't appreciate the measure as overkill, to put it kindly, even if they agree that Bush hasn't been a good POTUS. Despite the city's reputation as an uber-lefty mecca and ground zero, SF citizens did show that good citizenship and personal class can and should be totally consistent with civil political disagreement yesterday.
