I agree with you. I never thought of Bush as really conservative. I would like to pose the question. Could you or anyone else in this thread define (at the state level) what a conservative is. I would prefer if whoever responds to this could refrain from insulting liberals (that accomplishes the same as liberals insulting conservatives, nothing) but rather outline principles and beliefs. Note, disagreeing is not insulting.
Probably a good topic for a seperate thread that I'd be glad to post in.

Re: Texas Governor

Apparently kinky is running for the democratic nomination.

A democrat named Kinky... quite possibly the only honest one in the bunch.

Actually he's not terrible, and he doesn't take himself too seriously. The San Francisco wing would be mortified.

Re: Texas Governor

Texas needs Kinky Friedman like a duck needs a harmonica. I would write the whole thing off as a publicity stunt, but I don't think Friedman has a new book or something else to sell at the moment.

Hmmm... how much does a duck need a harmonica?

The world may never know.

Re: Texas Governor

Is the duck/harmonica thing similar to the fish needing a bicycle?

I think the only way Perry can win is like he did last time w/a plurality due to a crowded field. However, if that field includes KBH, I certainly wouldn't bet on it. However, if Bill White comes out with guns bazing, it will really be interesting. Personally, I can't wait.

He's not terrible at all. He'd probably do a good job. The whole world would laugh at us if he was our governor, but it might be worth it.

I agree 100% TAKS is in my opinion the biggest waste of time and energy. Back in ancient history when I was in school the gave us Iowa basic skills. We were told our scores would follow us all our lives ect. I did horribly in grammer school, but somehow got admitted to a major university. I don't think school children can be evaluated by one test that takes all week anyway.

Can you quote me or any Nevadan as making such ridiculous claims on this forum? Sounds like Texans, knowing their inferiority, are trying to make up for something.

NOTE=text in Red brackets added by AP for context.

EDIT: BTW, if you want to talk about how great Texas is, it would behoove you to spell check your posts first.

The thing is, Ajax, not every Texan make these claims , but you are directing hate at ALL Texans as if they have some boiesterous claim as their state motto or something. It is for that reason that I think you are somewhat of a hypocrit. I've seen you object to group judgement of people many times on this forum.
