Re: Texas Governor
Apparently kinky is running for the democratic nomination.
A democrat named Kinky... quite possibly the only honest one in the bunch. ![]() Actually he's not terrible, and he doesn't take himself too seriously. The San Francisco wing would be mortified.

Re: Texas Governor
Texas needs Kinky Friedman like a duck needs a harmonica. I would write the whole thing off as a publicity stunt, but I don't think Friedman has a new book or something else to sell at the moment.

Re: Texas Governor
Is the duck/harmonica thing similar to the fish needing a bicycle?
I think the only way Perry can win is like he did last time w/a plurality due to a crowded field. However, if that field includes KBH, I certainly wouldn't bet on it. However, if Bill White comes out with guns bazing, it will really be interesting. Personally, I can't wait. |

He's not terrible at all. He'd probably do a good job. The whole world would laugh at us if he was our governor, but it might be worth it.

Re: Texas Governor
He wants to get rid of the TAKS test, that's a damn good start to me.

Re: Texas Governor
I agree 100% TAKS is in my opinion the biggest waste of time and energy. Back in ancient history when I was in school the gave us Iowa basic skills. We were told our scores would follow us all our lives ect. I did horribly in grammer school, but somehow got admitted to a major university. I don't think school children can be evaluated by one test that takes all week anyway.
