The price of ignoring the Iraq Study Group

I find it interesting, if not somewhat disconcerting, that the heading of the 'War & Peace' forum now reads thus;

Quote:
A forum to discuss the current conflict with Iraq, North Korea, and the war on terrorism, as well as military/defense policy in general.
The Middle East reference, if such there was, has gone.

Is it now to be supposed that a new 'policy' is in place, a 'policy' of putting Baker on 'ignore' which will find its way into the newspapers, television and even discussion forums, a 'policy' which is in denial that the underpinning cause of the 'war on terror' is the war in the Middle East ?

Surely, following the ISG report the Middle East theatre should be prominent, not salted away under the ambiguities of 'military/defense policy in general' ?

Re: The price of ignoring the Iraq Study Group

Since this is about the title of a sub-forum, it has been moved to it's proper place and the off topic posts have been removed.

Re: The price of ignoring the Iraq Study Group

How about re-titling the sub-forum "A forum to discuss conflicts, as well as military/defense policy in general."?

This way, nobody can feel slighted if their preferred theater of operations is not identified by name.

Re: The price of ignoring the Iraq Study Group

That might fly. As things are, as from today, it appears that the 'War and Peace' forum is being stripped of references to Israel/Palestine. That doesn't sit well, as it's a war in need of a peace, just as much as Iraq.

If not more so, in the wake of the ISG report.

Glad to see you're interested, Matt.

I have no quarrel with your point, and in fact I support what you are saying about the forum titling.

Re: The price of ignoring the Iraq Study Group

Good. Can I also point out, for what it's worth, that the 'War & Peace' forum ( as was ) is the forum with the highest number of posts.

Someone is mending something that ain't broke.

Re: The price of ignoring the Iraq Study Group

I'll call attention to this thread in the staff forum. The titles / labels of the forum groups have to be edited by an admin.

Re: The price of ignoring the Iraq Study Group

The thing is just about everything has to do with war and peace.

One could say "I hate so and so politician". And it can fall under war and peace. Everywhere there is not peace there is war and vice versa.

Re: The price of ignoring the Iraq Study Group

samantha you could do a post on how france and england are no longer at war with each other, or canada and the usa. Or how about how new york and maine never decided to go to war with each other. lol if we were talking about peace what would we talk about? "In the news today, absolutely Nothing is going on...."

Re: The price of ignoring the Iraq Study Group

Canada and the USA were at war?

New York and Maine were at war?

I'm so confused.
