And he is a Patriot, not a Partisan. Just ask him , he'll tell ya.
Although his actions are suspect.

Me being on his ignore list is no skin off my ass.
me too Laz. I don't have anyone on ignore and I'm on the patriot's ignore list too. Although he keeps mentioning me a few times a week in his posts. So I'm not sure what that's all about.

When you have the confidence of your convictions, you don't need the ignore feature. People will always throw stones, but you don't have to let them knock you down. Just keep believing, keep speaking, keep working toward a better world.

Re: The Ignore List

I use the ignore list. Not because I have thin skin, but because my sanity is something I enjoy having. Those on my ignore list are few and usually consist of...

1. Those who feel the need to lie in their posts, like one would lie in a high school locker room for instance.
2. Those who post like they took lessons from a retarded monkey and failed the class.

Posters who fall into those two categories seem to clog up the screen more than most.

Re: The Ignore List

I use the ignore feature only for people who have crossed the line in their insults and stupidity

still doesnt work though , who ever you ignore still attacks your posts so it doesnt really deconflict the board.

heck i have two on ignore who post about me constantley and still dont get it

some people get obsessed about people , and stalk them its sad and its why some people should just stay on their own types of boards and talk to people they agree with

Re: The Ignore List

I've always found the ignore list to be an interesting tool. I have personally never used it (although I did come very close at one stage when we had a poster by the name of DHard). I'm sure I've made it on to people's a few times though. Whether I agree or disagree with people's arguments, I still like to read them; or choose not to read them as appropriate.

I will admit i do read at times those ignore briefly and then re enstate the censor on them

I think it is a valuable tool to any board

some people should not interact on boards period, over time they become too hateful and end up just ruining it for the rest of the board IMO

Agreed! Whilst you and I certainly rarely see eye-to-eye, that's what makes discussion on a Board such as this interesting. It's when the discussion or tone takes a dramatic downwards spiral ... as it did for a while there at the start of the year thanks to a couple of notable posters who have since moved on ... that it gets out of hand.

Re: The Ignore List

The ignore list is a good tool to keep troll bait out of rational discussions. Unfortunately, some of the folks here at USPOL are not interested in debating issues like civilized people, they merely want to shock and outrage others. I've had a few people on my list from time to time. The funny thing is the trolls never last.

Re: The Ignore List

Look at CBS and NBC. They dont ignore the republicans dont they? Hell they say negitive stuff and make a big deal whatever ethics rules they break. But when it comes to democrats breaking ethics rules they ignore it AKA Bill Clinton and Janet Reno.

Re: The Ignore List

I am a new member and I guess I am not able to post new threads yet, so this thread seemed to be related to my question.

Do any of the Americans here know of a US Politics forum that has only American members enforced by IP address?

Thanks in advance.

Not a clue. We like our White flag frog eaters here.

Re: The Ignore List

I think I may have an ignore list addiction. Most threads I read now are about 3 pages of "this user is on your ignore list" and then one actual post. Maybe its time to reset. I wish we could go to some sort of system where we have a forum for people who have been here a long time, and keep out the drive by posters. Or somehow establish some civility and rationality.

Re: The Ignore List

The problem with using an ignore list is that just about everyone I would ignore has a point worth discussing at least occasionally. It seems that if you're going to come to a discussion board, you should be prepared to discuss.

Of course, what I find funny is those who are put on someone's ignore list are generally only guilty of disagreeing and providing sources for their disagreeing arguments.
