I seldom use the ignore feature but there are a few that I've ignored mentally because they are such asses. I figure that if they can't write a post without insulting every person they're addressing, then they're not worth my time. Right now, there's one that fits that category. Then there's a few that I ignore mentally because they're such extremists and the posts they make are filled with so much of the "Repugs", "Demoncrats", etc. that I already know what they're going to say before I read it so why bother? You'll never get a decent debate with someone like that anyway!

We did have a board for 'board veterans'. It basically never got used, so it was removed.

I would respond to your post but I can't see it.

I can totally relate. There are definitely a few people here who insist on being abrasive just for the sake of being unpleasant. But, every great once in a while, they actually have a point worth addressing.

Re: The Ignore List

PramJockey? where is this from?

Quote:
From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some youths came out of the town and jeered him. "Go on up, you bald head!" they said. "Go on up, you bald head!" He turned around, looked at them and called a curse down on them in the name of the Lord. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled 42 of the youths. And he went on to Mount Carmel and from there returned to Samaria.

I've only one person on my Ignore list...

Don't let Moon run you off, ignore him as most do. You'll find some very rational folks here, even among the foreigners, if you choose to stay and you'll soon learn who to ignore and who to respond to. So stay and give it a try, please!

Re: The Ignore List

I've found that I generally ignore people only temporarily if they seem intent on disrupting a discussion or on taking a thread off-topic.
I'll pop them in ignore so I don't have to wade through 10 of their ranting/off-topic posts to find the one new post that actually carries on the discussion. Generally, once the thread in question wraps us, I'll turn them off ignore again and just hope for the best next time.
I haven't yet found anyone so offensive as to warrent permenantly ignoring them.
