View your warnings.

Can you provide links to the specific posts that generated the warnings for review and possibly learning from those warnings?

As it is now, there is no way to tell which posts generated which warnings. Such feedback is not very useful without any meaningful way to understand it.

Re: View your warnings.

Those posts are embedded into the automatic pm that warned posters receive. Posts that violate rules are usually edited or deleted ... and so the reason for the warning is normally removed from the open forum. But if you get a warning from a moderator, please fee free to ask if you don't understand the reason for the warning.

I have not received any automatic pm concerning warnings on posts. Can you verify if that function is enabled for my account? It would be more useful in understanding what types of issues are generating the most complaints.

Nor have I. In fact I did not know until I saw this post that there was actually a "view warning" function on this site. On checking that function I discovered that I have been issued with warnings for reasons I don't know.

As fas as I see you haven't received a warning so far. It's not really the issues that create complaints. I think it's rather the way certain posters take it.

For your information. A warning would look like that (I edited the post, so that the poster cannot be identified):

Quote:
Dear xxx,

You have been warned for one of your posts, which violated U.S. Politics Online: A Political Discussion Forum Rules. The reason you have been warned is because:

A minor insult directed at another member.
(Warning Type = Minor Insults)

For this violation, you have been given : 4 point(s).
The point(s) will remain in your account for 30 days.
After that, they will be removed automatically.

The post for which you are warned can be seen here:

=======================================
..... You are the sub-human here as your ideas are part of the dark ages.

.....

=======================================

The admin/moderator who warned you, entered this comment:

=======================================
Please do not refer to other posters as 'sub human'. It is insulting and hurts our goal of trying to provide an open, mature place to debate. If you feel this warning is in error, please feel free to discuss it with me or any of the other mods or admins. Thanks!
=======================================

Your total Warning Level at the moment is: 4 point(s).

If you reach the maximum of 10, you will be banned from the Forums, for 5 days.

To see details about all the warnings you have received, until now, please click here.

Please reply back if you have a dispute.

Re: View your warnings.

If you click on "View Your Warnings", you see a list of all types of warnings the system provides. These are not warnings you were given. If you had any warnings, they would be listed above that list. It also would tell you the name of the moderator who would have issued the warning, along with a description of the type of the warning. It would also tell you if you had any warning points.

Re: View your warnings.

Thanks, I was under the impression those were generated warnings attributed to me.

Where is the link to "View Your Warnings"?

I'm sorry, but I can't find the link button to "View Your Warnings". Where exactly is it?

Re: View your warnings.

There should also be a link in the header of each of your own posts ... at least that's where I see it.

Re: View your warnings.

I just got penalized for "spamming" the forum.

To my knowledge, spamming is making multiple posts or flooding the forum or mailboxes with the same information.

How is making one post spamming?

From rules:

Quote:
3. You cannot post the same thing in multiple forums. You must not open similar threads about the same or a similar topic. You cannot spam the board or send unsolicited messages to members via PM, email or any other means.
What is spam?

Oh, come on, Angry Citizen. I just checked the post that got you the warning.

The Deadly Blueprint For The New World Order

For a start, if you read the forum rules, you’d be aware that you are not entitled to post a new thread, because you have not met the 30 days/30 posts condition

Even though you link to a free product, it’s a border line advert. You don’t use your own words to discuss the film, or attempt to initiate discussion on the film in your own words. That’s a form of spamming.

And why did you not try to post the said post in a forum relevant to the topic? It’s not a braking News post, is it? You simply used a glitch in the forum software to bypass the new member condition.

Members here ordinarily welcome any new member to the board, but, if this is your idea of an introduction, don’t hang around for greetings.

Tethys
