why is there suddenly a plethora of racist threads?

Tonight I can see:

two threads in War & peace thinly veiled as platforms for racist rhetoric:
Riots in France Worse than 2005 Riots
Guess Who's Guarding U.S. Nuclear Weapons (Israel of course)

under culture and media issues there are 4 similar threads:
What's Wrong With Whitey ??
Winston Churchill: "Jews Responsible For Communism in USSR"
Where's the Great Black Hope ??
"Hatin Whitey" by Jew David Horowitz

previously there was a thread in which the OP was an attempt to glorify hatred and intolerance of people on the basis of race.

What I think needs to be said is that effectively these threads are all saying the same thing.

They are nothing but a platform for vilification of Jews and people of African origin (probably others as well if you look closely).

Why are there no constraints on this man creating new threads, since they are all effectively an excuse to spread racist poison on the web?

Does USPO really want to be a vehicle for this man preaching hatred?

I'd just like to add that these threads are also a recruiting mechanism for these hate groups. They're fishing for new members.

As far as I can tell, they aren't breaking any forum rules. It is boderline spam, though. I would encourage everyone to NOT click on any of the links in these threads, because that is exactly what they are hoping for. Please don't increase the hit count on their sites.

If we completely ignore them, they'll go away eventually. Easier said than done sometimes.

How do people feel about a weekly thread limit? Maybe a thread limit for unregistered users? A thread limit for people with less than a certain amount of posts?

Moderation policy is just fine to discuss.

Discussion of specific mod actions (for example, "Speakeasy warned me two days ago for insults, and then PMed me saying he didn't warn anyone else") aren't allowed.

We've had countless threads discussing the policies of this site and some of the rules we have in place came about due to those threads.

Ahh okay. (I thought this thread was specifically started aimed at Brett though so didn't post).

I think the idea of waiting 30 days to start a thread for a newbie is good, also maybe a mod queue for the first 10 posts or so at least for a newcomer to avoid the porn and other nonsense that has found its way to the boards.

As for a cap on limiting threads being started again that's good...those who start wothwhile and legitimate threads don't usually have the urge to start 100 odd a week.

But as i understand that needs to be done right from thr top and to script or code that in is quite difficult is it not? (Unless VB has it as an add on hack feature though i'm not aware of one).

Since a specific user here registered in November, I cannot fathom how he is allowed to create new threads every day....but it is happening. Are certain parts of the forum excluded from the "No new threads in the first 30-days" rule?

Because if a poster joins in mid November, I just don't see how he can be creating thread after thread after thread starting the day joined.

I am all for creating a "Racial Hatred" section of the forum and limit all the nutball racist hate-monger thread creators into that forum. Thus, freedom is maintained, and racial-spam is confined. It is spam, by the way. Racial hatred and recruitment for their cause.

I was wondering the same thing but i figured the new "no threads anywhere for 30 day rule" was only enacted after he joined. Depends on whether the USPO staff believe in rectoactive enforcement or not i guess.

Thor have a look at Mkultra for example, he joined just over a month ago and before he had been around 30 days he had started 17 threads!

I agree that there shouldn't be any limit to the amount of threads a member can create.

Its not cencorship though; its just a cap on total amount...it is sometimes done on other forums but just difficult to implement (technically that is).
