Reported Posts - Question For Mods/Admins

I won't be specific, but I've seen instances where a post has been reported, and then the reported post gets edited by a Mod or Admin.

Are points still awarded for the offending post after a Mod or Admin edits it and removes the offending portion of the post?

Re: Reported Posts - Question For Mods/Admins

If a post is reported then we see the violation, if any, in it and that's what we take action against. If there is a post that has a violation in it, it is up to the mod if they want to warn first, then edit or edit, then warn. I really don't see that it matters what we do first because if we edit it first it doesn't make a violation magically disappear in the sense that a violation still occurred. We have an unedit version of the reported post on file in the mod forum. The ONLY reason it matter to some is that when a person is warned or alerted a copy of the post is sent with the warning/alert. If it has been edited prior to the warning/alert being sent then the person would see the edited version of their post. HOWEVER, like I said, we have an unedited version of the reported post in the mod forum and so I really don't see how or why it would be a big deal.

BTW, we will not discuss if and when points are ever given to another member. BTW, I'm closing this thread. Any more questions may be directed to me via PM.

Thanks.
