Re: Style Feedback Poll--Round 1!

In the end i voted for number 1 even though i much preffer number 5. 1 might just become the default if we're lucky....

5 is freethough so i hope it becomes one of the additional options, if the forum specifics were in yellow like the forum and catergory header's text then i would have voted for that one irrelevant of its chances of winning.

Re: Style Feedback Poll--Round 1!

If it helps 4 was my first choice and 5 would be the second after that. Is the functionality the same for all of them?

Re: Style Feedback Poll--Round 1!

I like 3 or 4. I don't really care for light text on a dark background.

Re: Style Feedback Poll--Round 1!

It is interesting how similar #'s 2 and 3 are with one another. The nice thing is that #3 is free. I like some of the dark ones, but am less sure about them for the default style as I think they look less professional for this type of forum.

As a professional football manager once said- 'It ain't the shorts that win games, it's what's in 'em'.

Re: Style Feedback Poll--Round 1!

Candidate #1 is easiest on the eyes in respect to color.

I find that a pure bright white background to text makes for a higher degree of eye strain.... not scientific, just my observation.

I also kind of like the graphic style of #1... and maybe sometimes I just like the first option I hear the best.

For example: Pizza......Noodles.......Roast Beef.....Tuna Casserole....

- You're hungry for pizza now... see?

So that would leave number 1 which conveniently also has the most amount of votes...(against 4, 5 and 6)

*looks hopeful*

So have you decided on the new default?

Re: Style Feedback Poll--Round 1!

Not long to do go (with number 1 seeming to be the choice of the folks) but err...why does the poll close at 56 minutes past the hour? Any significance?

Re: Style Feedback Poll--Round 1!

When you create a poll you specify the length of time you want it open in days. Thus, if you create it at 56 minutes past the hour then that is when it will close.

I haven't decided on the new default and this isn't necessarily the final word on it. I am just trying to get input on it before a decision is made.

Re: Style Feedback Poll--Round 1!

Oh right i thought you may hav intentionally set the poll with 4 minutes left before the new hour starts to see if you could get a new style up in 4 minutes or less, which may make the whole thing more entertaining for you i guess!

A personal challenge?

I wouldn't allot 4 minutes to do ANYTHING with forum software.

In my experience, the conversion table for doing anything with this stuff is:

What takes 1 minute will actually take 15.

10 min = 1 hr
1 hr = 3 hrs
3 hrs = a day and a half

But I'm sure the big guy has a lot more practice than I did.

Re: Style Feedback Poll--Round 1!

The actual upgrade went very quickly. It was the downloading of backups that took long.
