Re: forum bugs

Nothing for me, personally. What OS/browser are you using, and how long has it been going on?

Re: forum bugs

Not to do with posts or reporting posts (only reported like a couple Spammers and that's it though so i dunno), but some of the tag links and stuff are broken. But Marc already knows about the problem and is looking to fix it with updates when he gets some time and new releases become available.

Re: forum bugs

'Report' doesn't work in 98SE but it does in WIN2K. I use one of each.

I have IE7/XP on a few machines here. I'll spend some time using that instead of firefox with the site and see if I notice anything as well.

I opened with IE7/XP pro (Service Pack 2) and had no errors reporting a post or opening someone's profile for viewing. I'm using IE 7.0.5730.13 but I'm not sure how recent that is. Have you recently downloaded any particular updates for IE or XP?

It sounds like there's a path resolution failure in the way your browser is requesting pages, which could be the result of a recent update or settings change. I'd be more inclined to say it was a server problem if other people were reporting it, but with package web software like vBulletin, that would be an unusual error to see unless changes/tweaks were being made.

Re: forum bugs

Make sure you are not accessing the site through an old bookmark.

For example:

Old: http://www.uspoliticsonline.com/forums/online.php?
New: http://www.uspoliticsonline.com/online.php?

Some of the older links, with the /forums in the pathway still work, but they don't access things like the report post function properly.

Ah, interesting. I don't use bookmarks, so I hadn't thought of that...

Re: forum bugs

I just tested in again, and confirmed that if you insert the /forums into the URL, you can still browse, but report posts gets you a blank screen.

Re: forum bugs

Yes, Larson's correct. If you refresh your bookmarks/cookies the 'report' function returns to normal, even through the cobwebs of 98SE.
