A few Suggestions

I have some suggestions for some new features:

1. Enemy List... basically works like the friends list but it's the enemy list!

2. When you view the member list there are a number of quick tabs at the top which sorts them. Could there be a couple new tabs which sorts by Joined Date and Posts Per Day?

3. Reputation... a traditional system where you can select a post and rate it with a thumbs up or a thumbs down... but make it so a user can turn the feature on and off. Or just make a reputation system where only you can view your reputation and the messages people might send with it.

Re: A few Suggestions

I don't think you can add them on as features unless they are created hacks or implemented in as VB software for the forum.

I'm pretty sure you can, but sometimes you need to know the scripting language in order to create the features.

It never hurts to make suggestions.

Re: A few Suggestions

Marc would still then have to go to the lengths of implementing it all on the forum.

Re: A few Suggestions

No, it never hurts to make suggestions and I appreciate it.

There is a reputation system for users that has many different features that can be turned on and off. However, I disabled it a few years ago because it was felt that it caused too many problems. I am not necessarily against revisiting the system because I think it has new features that can help us avoid some of the problems it introduced in the past.

As for some of the hacks I don't think the enemy list will be implemented. There are some hacks I have installed from vb.org and some code that I have modified myself. I have limited time to do too much of that as my main focus is on forum software upgrades and the like, but appreciate your input. A trial run of the reputation system though may be revisited sometime in the future though.

Thanks.

Re: A few Suggestions

On every forum i have ever seen it causes problems with a reputation system. It just leads to problems.

The sort column on the member list is a good idea but i have looked to see if there are any of those hacks available for VB and so far nothing.

I don't think it is neccessarily fair to expect someone to script it though.

Well, again I never expect anything. They were merely suggestions. Anyways, I'm sure there are some dedicated forum members who know how to program and are willing to give up some free if something was requested of them (me). Of course that would be quite a lot to ask of anyone and I myself am pretty newby when it comes to scripting anyways. Again it never hurt to make a suggestion. The great thing about writing is that who ever reads it can only blame themselves for taking up their own time. I'm not forcing anyone to listen to me. Marc has chosen to atleast read my suggestions, and that I'm thankful for.

Re: A few Suggestions

So what's your issue? You've said more than once now that "you're just suggessting it" and i have no objection to that...
