How about a forum for c+p posts?

That way people who want to read and respond to them can, while those who wish not to will not be bothered. Much less arbitrary than just closing all such threads.

Is moving a thread that much harder than closing it?

IMO, this would be much more in keeping with the free exchange of information than the current policy is.

Thanks

I'm thinking more along the lines of people who c+p their own material. We already have a forum for posting articles, I believe.

Re: How about a forum for c+p posts?

For a variety of reasons CnP is prohibited.
First and foremost, this is a discussion board and not a bulletin board.
Also, as a general practice, we give the poster an opportunity to post his/her own comments, provide links etc. in a PM.
When you see a thread never reopen, likely it is due to the poster not responding to that PM.

Cutting an pasting articles/blogs etc where the poster claims to be the author - it is of course impossible to know if that is true or not - plagiarism is not cool. If that content is copyrighted - it is against the law.
