    Locked Suggestion Threads

This is kinda playing off CharlesDavenport's following thread:

I suggest that suggestion threads don't get locked

I suggest that suggestion threads don't get locked

...but also involves this one as a second example:

Thanks for Fixing Inability to Ignore Private Mods

Thanks for Fixing Inability to Ignore Private Mods

There are other examples, plenty of them, but I don't have the time or inclination to enumerate them all and doing so really isn't necessary.

I can see the logic in locking threads for a particular reason (if they're intended to be smartass/offensive/passive-aggressive, they've run their course or served their purpose, etc...)

But both of the examplary threads above were locked without a moderator/admin even attempting to address comments/concerns that were brought up. Neither was any comment given by the mod/admin who locked the thread. Neither did the mod who locked it even bother to take personal responsibility for his or her actions.

    WTF?

Thoughtful, legitimate concerns and comments don't warrant discussion and don't deserve a response from the site admins and moderators?

The site membership doesn't rate the simple respect of being given a reason for the site's management locking down discussion of the membership's comments or concerns?

Is there a policy somewhere that I'm missing that says the, "Suggestions/Comments/Questions/Ideas for New Forums", can only be used to brown-nose the staff about what a great job they're doing and what a great site this is?

How about the mod who locks this thread at least has the common decency to explain why (s)he's locking it, why this question is out of line, why it doesn't deserve discussion, why this is the wrong place to ask such a question, or whatever other reason is the predicate for shutting down addditional discussion of this topic out-of-hand?

    Re: Locked Suggestion Threads

This section is for posting comments and suggestions, or any ideas you may have. It is not, however, meant to have long discussions because the topics brought up here have a habit of being exploited by those with an ax to grind. Once a topic is addressed, ie question answered, suggestion noted, etc...., a thread will be locked.
