My mom loves the site. She's a member here also. My dad isn't a member (he's not a computer person), but when he sees something on the news he often asks what people on the board are saying. My sister also finds the place quite entertaining. My ex husband had signed up and he still asks me about the board from time to time. Even my ex boyfriend signed up and enjoyed reading threads. My best friend had signed up once upon a time ago and several people I know from other boards have signed up and participated.

hmmm, i don't know 'bout getting more members here, but i think i have an idear how to keep the ones who venture here for the first time, and keep'm hooked and returning.

when someone who be new finally posts a response, or starts their own thread, the heavy hitters (you know who you are, mateys, YARRRR!) on the sight ought to give them a thoughtful response.

i don't think anything is engaging, or compelling, as the honest exchange of ideas and a meaningful dialogue.

i know this probably isn't a realistic response to this thread, and it won't result in a sudden avalanche of peoples jumpin' onboard, but it will gain ye loyal folks, one person at a time.

anyways, thems me thoughts.
