Iraqi View of Election

Came across this interesting video of some Iraqis commenting on the election. Yes, we still have troops in Iraq. Whats interesting is whats going on in the background. Iraqis discussing politics, selling products, kicking soccer balls with soldiers. Were this 2000, you would be shot by the ISS for disagreeing with the authorities. The optimistic future for that country makes me feel good about what we have done there.

Yes, nothing like the displacement of millions of people from their homes, the slaughter of hundred of thousands of innocents, the terrorist chaos, etc.. to make one feel good.

and we all know that CNN and the american presence in iraq only reports from a 100% factual and objective perspective.

i mean, the united states has never engaged in propoganda or anything.

Re: Iraqi View of Election

So why would we have to stay there for 100 years if the people are already jetskiing?
I guess things are so good there, we can leave now.

Re: Iraqi View of Election

I still cant believe how US Media paints the picture of Iraq to the Americans. I guess they try and find anythin absolutely anything that might look or sound like "success" and sell it out to the public as Major Achievements in Iraq.

The problem is, alot of Americans believe this propaganda. Soon, Americans will be bookin tickets to go holiday in Iraq.

You're not just easily amused, you're easily convinced.

Are you, perhaps, interested in my perpetual-motion brick? I got it from the Elohim in exchange for Yeti pelts.

You arent convinced that things in Iraq are better than they were a year ago, in the face of the facts that say otherwise?

I have friends on the ground there. Marines, mostly

All they talk about, to a man, are walls. Shit that we, as in, you and I, set up.

Are you in Baghdad?

If not, perhaps you' enjoy talking about things you have no idea about?

Hell, what do I know.

I read the defense department breifings. They may be even more comprehensive than a friend on the ground. Is a combination of soldiers on the ground, media reporting, and management breifings less accurate than your friend? Im not sure of your point anyway. How does there being wall indicate that things are not better than they were a year ago? Do you bother to do any research on your own? If you have some proof of conditions contrary to my opinion, please do offer them.
