Re: Happy Day, Veterans
As a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, I'd like to personally thank you for chauffeuring the real warriors to the fight.

Re: Happy Day, Veterans
I always feel funny when folks than me for my service.
I got so much more out of serving than I ever gave back. I'm just grateful that this great nation gave me the opportunity to serve.

Re: Happy Day, Veterans
It's okay to "feel funny" about it...it's a sign of the humbleness that I've seen in many veterans. While tending bar, when I found out a new customer was a veteran or on active duty, I always bought his first drink and thanked them. Many were embarrassed, especially the older ones, because they just felt like they were doing their duty and nothing more, but to me, you guys and gals are really special and I wish I could meet you all personally to thank you and buy you a drink.

Re: Happy Day, Veterans
It is nice to see no smartass remarks in this thread. Just a few minutes ago I stopped a guy in the hallway that I know served in the 173d Airborne Brigade as an infantry soldier in Vietnam and wished him a Happy Veteran's Day (belated). He smiled, I doub too many people here have said that to him.
So, to all of the veterans on the board, I respectfully wish you a happy Veteran's Day!
