Re: Israel kidnaps Cynthia McKinney and a boat full of aid workers?

The activists piloted their vessel straight into the situation they are in.

How would the U.S. deal with a boat full of al-queda sympathizer activists steaming into a port in Iraq? Or New York?

So, are you equating the Palestinians with al-queda?

I might just be doing that if I was the Israeli government. Just considering the past 60 years and all.

Hamas and Hezbollah, as bad as they are, are no al-queda. First of all, Hamas' tactics and ideology is for the Islamization of Israel/Palestine. They have no designs on international terrorism as a strategic plan.

Hezbollah is more of a regional player that is/was inclining towards a more political role until the Israeli/Lebanon war of 2006.

Neither can be compared to al-queda, that's just hyperbole. Remember, both of these groups started out as, and remain as, humanitarian institution to provide food, medical supplies and other basic necessities for their people. They just so happen to have military wings that engage in terrorism due to their relative strength vis-a-vis Israel.

The Palestinians are also looking at the past 60 years. They seem to be always left out of the equation, it seems.

When we talk about security, it's only Israel's security we are concerned about. When we talk about murders and killings of civilians, it's only Israeli lives that matter. When we talk about peace and livelhood, Israel is what we're talking about.

The only time we talk about the Palestinians is when we are speaking of the terrorism, forgetting that Israel has committed her fair share of terrorism.

Folks on either side forget that this is not all happening in a vacuum; this is cyclical, both sides have their legitimate grievances and aspirations, while also, both sides have undermined the other (as well as themselves) with their continual belligerence and provocations.
