"It is hard for me to imagine what "personal freedom" can unemployed hungry person who finds no use for his labor have. True freedom can only be where there is no exploitation and opression of one person by another; where there is no unemployment, and where a person is not living in fear of losing his job, his home and his bread. Only in such a society personal and any other freedom can exist for real and not "on paper"." (Stalin)

I'm kind of busy today, so if you could go ahead and offend yourself on my behalf, that would be great....

I heard all this trouble was because they are opening a new Starbucks in Green Square without a permit. (from a russian source)
Take a good hard look, it's coming.
I have never heard any news outlet to have claimed at any time that the fighting was already over when the first Tripoli scenes were aired. The opposite was the case. The rebel claim was aired that a majority of the city was under their control. The situation is volatile and can change of course and the rebels have proven to exaggerate things. Nonetheless it sees to be confirmed that the regime is in deep trouble also in its capital. Or how could the palace complex have fallen otherwise?
Not long ago you denied outright that the regime faced any major loss of control of the capital at all. Are you still doing so?

Don't concern yourself with the Russian embassy.
Better tell us, how the "war on terror" is going?
How many weapons from Libyan arsenals did "international community" allow Islamists to have? You know, Islamists that the US and NATO are fighting against in other countries? How many of these weapons were already used by the so called Taliban, Al-Q and Hamas? How many of your countrymen Islamists already killed with the weapons taken from Libya?
Every time they announce the death of your military you pull on solemn expressions and post heart rending epitaphs; and at the next moment you are applauding Islamists in Libya and cheering them raiding Libyan arsenals!
Really, when God wants to punish someone, he deprives him of the ability to think.

You know, Alma has a point here.
Call it an undigested kernel of truth.![]()
That is precisely why the US Marines should have returned to the "shores of Tripoli" to capture Gaddafi's military bases to claim those arsenals, turning over useful items and providing vital support to the Rebels and destroy the rest while providing infrastructure from which to provide training, logistical, and tactical air support to the rebels, securing our own interests, and cutting Gaddafi off at the knee, greatly shortening the fighting and saving civilian life, and provide mean to offer post war influence, without actually getting anywhere near civilians and nasty urban warfare.
But the Obama didn't have the balls for that.
It's a good model, and maybe he will get a second chance in Syria.

Tripoli, Libya, Aug. 22, 2011, 1 AM CET- On Saturday evening, at 8pm, when the hour of Iftar marked the breaking of the Ramadan fast, the NATO command launched its "Operation Mermaid Dawn" against Libya.
"The Sirens were the loudspeakers of the mosques, which were used to launch Al Qaeda's call to revolt against the Qaddafi government. Immediately the sleeper cells of the Benghazi rebels went into action. These were small groups with great mobility, which carried out multiple attacks. The overnight fighting caused 350 deaths and 3,000 wounded.
The situation calmed somewhat on Sunday during the course of the day.
Then, a NATO warship sailed up and anchored just off the shore at Tripoli, delivering heavy weapons and debarking Al Qaeda jihadi forces, which were led by NATO officers" - (Global Research).

Let's just wrap this up along with Egypt. Two examples for the impoverished of the Middle East to consider. Their governments were messed up, and now they can stop blaming the United States for their problems. Functional democracy could be the best way to shut down the Al Queda types. These faces tell the story a people wanting to be free, and desiring to begin nation building. According to CBS Lybia is one of the most affluent nations (assets were frozen) in the region, and has had a transitional government functioning for nine months. Democracy could move quickly and effectively in Lybia which could mean quick results for other Middle Eastern nations to follow. Yippy kyoh kyae!!!
