I think the stimulas should have been much more than one tril. 5 trillion would have made a difference. Yet with our economic engines now off shored, perhaps there is no solution here at all. But at least a 5 tril stimulas spent on infastructure would have been an intelligent thing to do. We are quickly starting to look like a "has been" in infastructure. America is crumbling because we will not spend the money on it when times were good, and when times are bad and we should spend it to put some to work, we do nothing.

The real solution to our woes are having large numbers of middle class jobs again, increasing the tax base, which also gets millions off of social safety nets. And that "information age economy" ain't gonna do it. A consuption based economy that does not employ its own people making those consume goods is doomed to lose it middle class, or its large middle class. No large middle class equal a huge poverty class.

I highly doubt Obama would have been able to 'cover his ass' if the shit had hit the fan and the mission was a disaster. You can read that intent into what happened, and its possible he would have tried that, but I suspect it wouldn't have worked, esp since the mission took place in Pakistan without Pakistan's authorization (no general would authorize that without presidential approval).

Yes, and I'm fully cognizant of the fact that the GOP would have done this, and in fact DID do this in similar cases. I'm also aware that Obama said he wouldn't do this.

Which basically means I'm fully comfortable with my past 20 years of voting 3rd party (or Ron Paul), because the demopublican party is a charade.

When Obama said that, was he referring to the incident at that time and place, and that he would never use this accomplisment(and it was a monumental one) to show himself to be capable, resolute on getting OBL later on, when it was expected and called for?

No, I think his earlier spike the ball comment was in reference to what had just transpired. For anyone to think he would not use this great accomplishment later on to show him in a positive manner is just nuts.

I also think that at the time of the killing, he was advised perhaps to not dance around as the Muslims do, but to appear more civilized than they were. To not infuriate and create new recruits for those terrorists organization by "spiking the ball" rubbing it into their faces. Hell, we even obey Islamic Law by burying OBL within the demanded time frame. Someone advised to do this as well.

An intelligent man, a leader, will not create more enemies by ignoring the potential enemies religion and culture. I think that should be in Sun Tzu's book.

Pres. Obama showed guts and superb judgement on this issue. He has the right to spike that ball today. Repubs should be praising the man on the risk he took. If it had went south, he would have been toast in any chance at keeping his office. Remember guys, "the buck stops here" in so far as most americans are concerned.

It has to cause a great wringing of hands within the republican party, this monumental accomplishment, that would not have happened except for Pres. Obama. Especially when Obama used it to his advantage recently. FNC went absolutely bonkers over this!! You could see the stress on most of their faces, followed by exuberant indignation!! It really was greatly entertaining and they had me doing deep belly laughs a few times.

The greatest line FNC parroted endlessly was Obama did not do it, SEAL Team 6 did it, Bush's intelligence and torture did it, and you would think Obama was just on the sidelines, having nothing at all to do with it, and certainly little credit! They even showed one clip on Obama where he was spiking the ball, than they cut away to leave viewers with the idea Obama was taking ALL of the credit. FNC left out his next sentence, where he thanked ST6, intelligence, the general who planned it, etc. LOL. Sirs, this is pure propaganda from the fair and balanced news outlet call Fox News! Goebbels would be real pleased, if he is watching from Hell.

SEAl Team Six should never have come up. Special Operations Forces should naver have come up. Hell, American forces should never have come up.

It should have been, "Last night, on my orders, coalition forces raided a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan and killed Osama bin Laden, the mastermind, blah, blah, blah...".

Nobody on Earth needed to know who was involved. It would have been sufficent to know the dude was dead.
