Not sure. We do add smilies here and there, so there's always a chance one will pop up at some point.

I use them using the [img] feature but sometimes the site is down and all that shows up is the lil red x... which sucks...

How come I'm not allowed to fabricate quotes and stories?

Recommended ways of blowing of steam while staying within forum rules would be attacking the person's argument ("that is the most retarded idea ever", rather than "you are a giant retard"). Also, sarcasm and condescension are not only accepted, but seem to be quite prevalent around here.

In addition to what Speakeasy has already said - if the post is off topic then it will also be deleted. If you reply to a post that contains and insult or bait or was off topic then your post will also be deleted or edited. "Is that Thane?" was an off topic post therefore your response of "...inThane" was also off topic and could be seen as insulting or baiting in the sense that could you be implying "...insane"?

What? MattLarson is still a mod!

Just kidding

I do have one question though, about rule number 5.

Quote:
5. Shouting in Posts
Do not shout in posts. This includes using all caps, bolding your entire post, increasing the size of your entire post, etc. Whether your intention is to be shouting or not, posting in such a manner is prohibited.
In the Gonzales thread, Angel of Mercy made a post with the headline in large letters. MattLarson edited it, changing the large letters to regular sized.

I recall being told by the authoritaze here, that it's OK to use the large font for your headline in your post.

Is that not the case any longer?

(Is this discussing moderator action and a punishable offense?)

(I'm just trying to clarify the rule.)

Matt would have to answer that, as I did not have anything to do with it. How big were the letters? It's okay to use a larger font than normal, but it would be unacceptable to use the largest font available for a headline.

Rule 5:
Quote:
5. You cannot shout in posts. This includes posting in all CAPS, bold, lIkE tHiS, and extra large font. Posts should also be one color, although you may use an additional color for highlighting ideas you wish to address.
The rule is quite clear that the use of extra large fonts (in this case size 7) is not permitted.

The rule has not changed. The use of the extra large font is prohibited, and has been.

Matt

They were, and this is why they were removed.

None of which would have been 1/10th the issue if you had stayed out of it, rather than jumping in to a situation that in no way involved you, so you could bring more baseless accusations.

You know I can't do that Matt

By the way, where did I get that quote of rule number 5? I thought it was clicking on the link that is in Crystal's sig. But that's the version you posted. I can't remember...

There are more than one version of the rules floating around here, right?

The original ones are still around somewhere. I think if you look down a few threads in a thread about temporary suspensions being back you will be able to see a copy of the original rules. I should clarify though, there isn't "more than one version". Once the rules were updated the original rules are invalid, hence, there is only one version of the rules and that would be the rules in this thread.
