Re: Banner Competition: Round 2 Voting!

I prefer the darker text of agoodfella's entry and the graphics on Malvolio's. If there were a way to combine the two that's the one I'd vote for.

The first one is too biased to the left.

We don't have a 'left' people, but that is not the point. The point would be to remain unbiased for the sake of new members and visitors. Some might look at the banner and think this forum is left leaning and not participate in dialog with us. Is there a reason to have political associations present in a political banner? Not really. The United States has powerful reminders as to our politics, the White House, Capitol Bldg, Supreme Court bldg, Statue of Liberty, etc.... And my favorite the US Constitution.

Really, why should we have to look at the pictures of people who lie for a living?(both sides)

I could puke seeing BS Obama standing next to my girlfriend by the way.

Re: Banner Competition: Round 2 Voting!

Marc will the new banner mean you'll have to re-configure the board set up and go through all the paths to get rid of various glitches and bugs like you did for the skins or can you just alter it from the styles?

I mean could the forum be full of "X"'s and stuff again?

Re: Banner Competition: Round 2 Voting!

No. Changing the banner is never a problem as all I have to do is simply rename the new banner the name of the old banner and make sure it is in the same file location. It is possible I have it in two locations so I will have to double-check that...but I don't be changing the name of the file as you are right, that can just mess things up. The most that will happen for a little while perhaps is seeing the old banner in one spot and the new one in another.

Re: Banner Competition: Round 2 Voting!

I have to say Bravo to both of you gentlemen.

I couldn't make a banner to save my life (well maybe I could then, but it would be awful ). So I am impressed by the fine work that went into both.

I think Zoido was the creator of the current banner - if memory serves me?
