Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Well, I am new around here.

I am 15 yrs old, and in Puerto Rico. Not the kind of person who is weary from arguing with grown ups. Anyway, you learn by it.

As for American politics, I am a very left wing liberal, but then again, its the conservative junkies the ones who are crazy. As for Puerto Rican politics, I am pro indepencence.

Hiya Vic, welcome. Im mostly to the right on issues, but I am also for Puerto Rico independence. 50 states is plenty.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Looks very interesting here.

I'm pro-U.S. constitution, liberal, revolutionary, Democrat, anti-Bush, disgusted with the extremists on the right, anti-neocon, and all that nasty stuff that scares the beegeebees out of those trying their darnedest to conform with and follow the ultra-nationalist screw-the-rest-of-the-world faith-based.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

This is the "Introduce Yourself" thread, not the initiative publicity thread. Please post in a different forum in your own thread, perhaps campaigns and elections or state politics. Thanks and welcome!

Sorry, Marc.

I live in the beautiful Fingerlakes area of upstate New York, a favorite hang out of the science fiction writer, Rod Serling, who often used the names of the towns here in his stories.

I'm 52 years old, male, with long dark hair and a mustache.

I've been on the internet since 1999. If you try "cygonaut" in a search engine you'll find a lot about me, but, I assure you and everyone here -- not all of it is true!

I love politics and, being an election year, I'm all pumped up I guess.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

My name is Ken, and I am a politicaholic.

I am a forty-two-year-old reformed Republican, registered independent. I work in the wireless telephone industry for a major US carrier.

I like long walks on the beach and laughing hysterically at conservative talk show hosts. I enjoy reading the classics, and a rather eclectic selection of modern writers. My favorite authors are Mark Twain and Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.

I enjoy reading and thinking about economics. Unlike many free trade fanatics, I have actually read Adam Smith, and David Ricardo, et al. They are amazing durable and horribly flawed icons, I have found, and I get a kick out of destroying their simplistic theories.

I have been a registered Republican, but I became sentient in my early twenties and realized there had to be something more. I was briefly registered Libertarian, but that blasted sentience thing kicked in again. I registered Independent, then Reform, also briefly, and then back to Independent, where I expect to stay for the foreseeable future. Nevertheless, it is my intention to do something this year I have never done in my entire life: vote for a Democrat for President of the United States of America.

My musical tastes cover the spectrum: Rock, Jazz, Blues, Classical, and some modern stuff, too. No Britney, no country (except the old stuff like Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, etc.) and I'll just never get the hang of Insane Clown Posse.

Right now, I am listening to Van Morrison. Into the Mystic.

Most of my friends and co-workers are political deaf mutes, so I have come here to chat.

I love this place!

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

I’m Mitch. I’m a senior in College at Sam Houston State University of Texas. I’m majoring in political science and I know a lot more about it than you. I’m a communication minor. I’m trying to get my school to make a program for beer drinking majors. I think a lot of people would go for it.

When I lived in Baltimore I was a registered as a republican. It’s a very liberal area and I was conservative by comparison to everyone else. In East Texas I’m a registered as a democrat, because it’s such a conservative area I’m a liberal by comparison to everyone else. I didn’t change parties because my views changed or anything, I’ve always been pretty middle of the road. I’m not going to switch to the Independent Party or any such thing because I believe in the two party system.

I live in West Pennsylvania now, my parents have a house here and I'm staying for the summer. I'm going back to Texas in the fall. I'm still bound to be a streetpunk though wherever I go.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

I'm Kwame. I pretty much wanted to post in this thread to see if my signature came out right, cause it expresses my Buffy fandom. Also I like liberalism, but not when it's pretentious. I'm also a fan of reading, movies, live music, weed, thrift stores and non-commercial hip hop.
