Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Well, Al Gore's a liberal. Wouldn't that appeal to the conservative base?

Yes indeed. They just throw bottles at me when I bring up the fact that I can't really see anything wrong with legalizing pot.

And no, I don't smoke the stuff.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

If anybody should stumble across this, I apologize, up front for the coma it may cause. I have no problem divulging all about myself because I think honesty and disclosure is something that we have let fall by the wayside, especially concerning politics. I would rate myself somewhere in the 57th percentile of Americans when it comes to intelligence. Where I fall short there, I more than make up for with an astounding lack of post-high school education. What I do promise to bring is my opinions (at best, a wall to bounce your own off) and an uncompromising openness to the logic of others. If you should wonder why something should come out of my mouth, here is a short history. Former member of the NRA. (a little too extreme for me at times) Competed in the USPSA, GSSF and a member of the CMP. (shooting organizations) Race USAC category 3 road cycling. To close, I am a firm believer in the premise that there are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Good to meet you, Republicrat!

I'm also an avid shooter, so we have something in common. I've also used the "no stupid questions" line as I think it has a certain ring of universal truth that is far too good to pass up.

From your name, it seems we might also share some "middle of the road" ideologies as well, so I look forward to seeing you in the discussion areas.

If disagreement is not the spice of life it better be pepper.

Ah, then one can only hope that you have a teacher who holds your same views about questions. You may change that view after that.

There are no stupid questions, just stupid people who refuse to admit that the correct answer may not be to their liking...

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Greetings everyone

Iam known as Thorvald, Iam native Dutch, living in the Netherlands. Iam of Dutch and German ethnical origin. Iam not really religious in the sence of christianity, but I've particulary a high interest in the Asatru Gods, but Iam not sure quitly which path to follow.

Politically I consider myself as a traditionalist. Language skills: Dutch, German, English and Afrikaans. I understand a bit of Swedish and Danish aswell.

Why I registered here? Well, I've a great interests in American history, politics and society, I oppose what many Europeans on forum own as a random habbit: Anti-Americanism. Iam against that for the simply reason that a person should make up his own opinion rather be judged by media newsstories or goverment action. I've a good American friend, who has lived in my country 5 years ago. He is from Michigan btw. He retirned back to good oll' America. I consider America as a fascinating country, and Iam intending to visit it in the nearby future.

My interests are music, traveling, nature, my family, history. I've visited Germany many times, I've been to Russia, Croatia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Spain, France, Austria, England, Belgium and Italy.

I hold on traditional values, Iam proud on my heritage and try to develop my knowledge about other European countries and North-America.
