but the greater metropolitan area is in Kentucky as well
I know some people from Covington and Newport (right across the river from downtown cincy) that might disagree with being lumped in with cincinnati. As it is Cincy is going downhill big time and Newport/Covington are starting to break away from being considered just the kentucky part of cincinnati.

Ya know, I'm not entirely certain, but I think I've been camping in Wayne Forest before. I remembe getting lost down there and not seeing any other humans for like 5 hours!
That is entirely plausible and possible. I've gone on day hikes there and had the same thing happen. Last fall when I was hunting in the area a ranger told me they had reports of black bear in the region. So definately the wild part of Ohio.

Uh.. yeah... we are NOT part of Cincinnati. People can say what they will about KY, but it is far better than that dump across the bridge that they call Cincinnati. My husband grew up in Covington, and he would strongly disagree that it is part of Cincinnati. People from this area say they are from Northern KY, not the "Greater Cincinnati area".

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Let's see, I like politics. I do realize, however, the futility in arguing about it, as one can be 100% correct in their views, and nothing in the political arena changes, so that makes arguing about politics meaningless. Debating yes.

I loved Yahoo's news message boards. You say what you want, you have a limited number of posts before you have to comeback in a while and it was un-moderated. I could say a few things about the news article, then leave. No long winding posts, were you're writing ten paragraphs back and forth, for pages at a time until one of them decides to go outside.

Some things about me.

Um, words don't hurt me. I've grown a thick skin and little things people do doesn't bother me. Sometimes I slip and assume that people have as thick of a skin as I do.

I can do satire, and be sarcastic at times. Sometimes, I imitate the antics of Homer Simpson, which has gotten be banned before from other sites. I take things rather lightly. After all, this is only a message board, not the world. It don't mean a thing.

My hobbies include gardening, swimming, learning, sciences, history, philosophy, working and going out to bars (if you think you've heard some crazy arguments, just wait until you have to debate with drunks).

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Heyo. My name is Mel. I'm a pretty young thing from Napa, CA. Currently I'm attending a University of California, with the hopes of soon procuring my very own Bachelor's degree in Spanish. I tutor adults in the local literacy program at the library. I like to read, write, play water polo, argue, discover new music, watch trashy reality tv, party, study, eat ice cream, bake, cook, perform stand-up comedy, etc.

I'm a big time nerd. I love Buffy, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Batman, Superman, Lost, Harry Potter, The X-Files and robots. I think Arrested Development was the smartest show that has ever been on television.

I'm six feet tall and blonde. My favorite book is 3 Cups of Tea. My favorite movie is American Psycho. My favorite food is sandwiches. I have a Mac. I'm learning how to salsa dance. And my favorite words are "ghost" and "spooky."

Oh and I'm a screaming, raging, tree-hugging, vegetarian, animal-loving, baby-killing, gay-friendly liberal and you will never ever change me :-)

I find it ironic that someone with the user name "AllWeNeedIsLove" admits that they are a "baby killing liberal"....

One of the few liberals that I have ever seen that has the balls to call it what it is.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

oh jeez. i'm not really for killing babies. i'm for the protection of a woman's right to choose, and for the protection of women against rape and incest. incidentally, i'm also for education about contraception and safe sex and government funding of those programs. i'm ALSO for counseling women to choose life if the situation is safe and appropriate. isn't it crazy how some drugged out hippy liberal like me can have some good intentions?

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

gosh, you're right. i love to kill babies. all liberals do. in fact, we like to hunt pregnant women down and beat them to death with shovels, and then harvest the unborn and roast them on a spit. i mean, really, is that really what you believe? that those who are pro-choice are anti-life? you are a sick sister, honey.

Regardless of your views, some of which I share, I would bet that maintaining this sort of closed-mindedness will not make your experience at USPOL enjoyable.

But, welcome.

In your original post you stated that you are a "baby-killing liberal"...

And I am the sick one?

Well, welcome to the forums. You really do want to be careful upon whom and where you employ sarcasm. Use it at the wrong time, or with the wrong person, and you'll be ripped to shreds.

On the other hand, I give you encouragement to use whatever sarcasm you deem necessary when responding to the "9/11 truthers" on this forum
