Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hello all!
I'm a believer in the old saying that if your young and not a democrat you have no heart and if you are old and not a republican you have no brain... seeing that I fall in the middle age wise I am pretty middle of the road when it comes to politics. I think both parties contradict themselves for their own personal gain... I prefer staying true to my beliefs regardless of who opposes or adheres to them.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

It seemed inappropriate to start political discussions on the other forum I participate in, so here I am ;o).

Hi, JT here, 20 years old, 3rd year psychology major at a private university. I am interested in discussing alternative energy and reforming the political system. I look forward to sharing with and learning from you all.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hails! Just joined the forum. Looks like a good one.

As for me, I guess I'm kind of a Progressive Libertarian/Moderate Democrat. I'm sort of a conundrum. Most people here in the Midwest call me a liberal, but I fit somewhere in the middle. I'm pro-choice but I feel most abortions aren't necessary. I'm an NRA member (also avid bowhunter) but I think common sense gun regulations should be enacted. I'm fiscally conservative but realize that we're in unprecedented terrority these days, so new ideas have to be generated. I voted for Obama but don't blame everything on Bush. I'm against the war in Iraq but support the war in Afghanistan. I equally loathe FOX and MSNBC.

Overall, I'm just an easy going guy who loves to debate politics!

And revered by the idiot conservatives if you're willing to blame everything on Obama.

Oh well. But maybe we can find common ground by agreeing that he was the worst president ever.

Try not to spit up on yourself.

Nobody blames everything on Obama; just what he deserves the blame for.

Libs, on the other hand, would blame Bush for Pearl Harbor if they could figure out a way to do it...

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

By way od re-introduction, as I've been a member, it seems forever, but haven't posted in a long while. The two main forums I post to, are getting pretty stale, so here I be.

I'm an old coot, on the downhill slide to 74, have been married almost 35 years to Momma Shooter ( not my first ) have some great kids and grand kids, and am blessed, I think, with Rocket Shooter Pup, my Chocolate Lab. By definition, ( mine ) Browns are half nuts, half mouth, and three quarters crazy.

I first voted for Barry Goldwater in '64, and was a practicing PUB, except for a vote for Perot in '92, until Mr Bush decided to govern like a DIM. I do not do DIMS, PUBS, ( except for my CongressCritter ) windows, and roofs. As I have gotten older, I have become more libertarian in my thinking, but that is with a small L. I am not convinced the Libertarians are any smarter than the PUBS and/or DIMS.

Questions?

Choosing between PUBS and DIMS is like choosing between warm crap and warmer crap. It still stinks. Shooterman 1935-

Well, so far, you seem pretty okay to me.

And I dig your signature...

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hi everyone....

I'm a strong conservative who really justs like to debate politics. I can't stand Obama and his idiocy, but I didn't love Bush either, even if I like him more than most. I joined to try and convince some of you how stupid you are to be a democrat... But I'm not trying to offend anyone.

I'd like to hear some of your opinions on the difficulties of the United States.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hi,
I am conservative on some things and liberal on others.
As you can see I am from BC, and for those who don't know that means we are not French. We are as far away from the French part of Canada as you can get and thats the way we like it.
I'm interested in US politics because it effects Canada as well as the rest of the world.
