Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

i'll present myself

My name in Anselme(rare name, even in France), Anglophone people always messed up with my name, but i am getting used to it and i don't have a shorter name!
I am 21 years old, single, and i live in Paris. I am doing a computer science ingeneer degree (5 years cursus) then i intend to study in London in economics. Right now i am doing an internship in London, my internship is boring that's why i am here

My political is socio-liberal, very contradictory, I know
I believe we need laws to protect any employee, like in France but in a Liberal world

I have been two times in USA in NEW YORK, the first time in village near Syracuse in an american family, and the other time with other students in New York itself! I enjoyed those two experience very much.

My next trip will be probably Japan or Australia!! and probably next year...

Bienvenue Anselme.

Be carefull, in the US and in France the word "liberal" doesn't have the same meaning !
A liberal in the US is a socialist in France.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Yeah, and from the European perspective, a liberal in the US is a conservative, and a conservative in the US is a Nazi. Likewise the conservative of Europe is a liberal in US, and the liberal of Europe is a commie that needs to be exterminated and silenced in the US. Welcome to the world where everything is relative and linear, really simple and flat......

Also, watch out for people who call themselves "libertarians". They're not "libertarians" in the original, European sense. They're Anarcho-Capitalists, advocates for neoliberalism, that's all.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hi im 17 years old, and from Stafford in England. I am currently studying A levels in History, English and Biology at a local college.

I consider myself a marxist socialist and have read numerous writings by all factions of the left/ right from Trotsky to Zendel (however, disgusting it is). I don't believe that the free market is working. In the town where I live people are disgruntled at the fact that they (working class) have a poorer life now since New Labour took over Britain in 97. Memeber of the Socialist party UK. It is linked with the Socialist Party USA, you may of heard of it.

In the US, we generally frown on Marxist/Socialists. Every large Socialist State has proven to be a disaster, unable to compete in a world economy and eventually collapses or morphs into a form of Capitalism to survive. Socialism is a crutch and an anchor. It props up those without the ambition to succeed and pulls down those who do. I would suggest that you do some reading on "real" applications of Socialism to see how corrupt a system it is when you move from theory to practice.

Oh, and I almost forgot.....Welcome.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Greetings from Atlanta, GA --the home of the Talkmaster--here in Boortz country I am in charge of handing out the hankies to those who are offended by 'The Painful Truth'.

Nice to make your acquaintance.

If any of you have visited Savannah, GA you may have seen the statue of the Waving Girl who welcomes the ships into the harbor. A lovely, historic city--best visited from October to April. It can get hot and humid.

I cannot wait for November---thoroughly disgusted with all involved in the political process at this point.
