Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!
The expression still looks like something in the lines of "there is not anything about that there(of that which it was about)" to me..
Hello. I actually read almost all of the nice resumes, and now I guess I could as well write one myself and stop lurking. I'm 24 now, study computer science for reference, genuinely enjoy reading philosophy and generally think too much. I seem to have been drawn into discussing politics on the net after suddenly realizing how narrow many discussions became, even among those traditionally well informed people around the university, because there were certain requisites that were never actually discussed. So I wondered, how would things happen if all needed to bring their suppositions into an unknown enviroment? Would they all need to rethink them or re- argue them, much unlike how it would be in a comfortable enviroment, where for instance noone would bat an eye if you called Bush a nazi? Not that suprisingly, it seems like people manage. But I guess my motivation for being here is still to hear some explanations. Even if written discussion has several failings when it comes to that. Something seems to be lost when you cannot see the face of the one you're speaking to, I think. Then again, written discussion has it's positive sides. Like, I do not actually see the face of the one I'm talking to. I of course have some explanations on my own, but I would be hard pressed to say just where on the political spectrum I find myself. I seem to have become conservative lately, but then I do not agree with those who represent that label. Which makes me a liberal, I suppose. I am often a buddhist. When I'm not, I am allegedly a nasty piece of work. But I try not to be that too often. So, looking forward to spend some more time on the board. |

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!
Greetings,
They call me Jimmy Knuckles aka Slick. I am 50ish, widowed with 2 grown children. I'm an Outlaw by nature and Radio Disc Jockey by Profession. I've been in the Music Business since 1964 and a DJ since 1980. My Politics are radical and my opinions are as well. I'll argue with anyone about anything. I have been involved in "corks" and newsgroups since the Internet was born and I have seen just about everything there is to see and read on the Web. I am an administrator on 3 forums of differing subjects and a moderator on a couple more. I know the ins and outs of site management and can usually spot phonies a couple blocks away. I speak my mind and accept others that do in return. I don't care for trolls and I despise those that think snide comments are appropriate replies to serious posts. Let's get it on !!! I have spent the last few days reading and getting a feel for those that post here. After adding nearly a half dozen already to my ignore list, I was wondering about some things. Is this guy kinetic for real or is he a shill added by the Admins to generate participation? If he is for real...do they not have Mental Health Clinics in the Midwest? That being said and considering the number of "ignores" on my list I think I'll continue solely in the "reader" mode. Jimmy Knuckles |
