Good luck?? Uh oh!

I've been nosing around tonight, getting the lay of the land and it looks like my kind of forum. Takes me a little while to get into the swing of things though.
Of course, after that you won't be able to shut me up! (really! I'm serious!)

Thanks again to all for the kind welcome.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Why the hell didn't I post my first post here? Now no one knows my story. I suppose that means I'll have to enlighten y'all about my background.

I'm sure some of you who've been around since I've posted a little know a bit of my political view. I consider myself a right-winger. Although I've found that terms like that don't mean much because one side sees a different meaning to the word than the other side. So I would try to sum it up like this. I'm against abortion, gun control, welfare, homosexual marriage, partisan politics, the U.N., affirmative action, and many other things.

Enough of the political opinions. Here is my story. My name is Jason. I'm originally from Loganville, Georgia. Then when I hit 18 I joined the USAF and after about 7 months of training I'm at my first base in Colorado. I work on communications equipment. I'm a devoted protestant, even though I don't actively go to church. I still try to live my life the way I should.

So now you know.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hello,

I'm a 50 year old father and husband in Los Angeles and I work as a craftsperson in the movie business. That said, I'm an anacronym for my profession inas I have a conservative viewpoint, which isn't a popular choice in Hollywood, ESPECIALLY during the last election. I own a business in partnership with my wife and keep my opinions to myself in business/social situations. This, besides close friends, will probably be my primary outlet of political opinions and discourse.

I don't subscribe completely to all things labeled conservative and I'm amazed at the lack of depth most peoples decisions are based upon. I was following a political section board in, of all places, a running website and found myself more and more upset by the outright hostility and lack of thread management within that site.

That was yesterday. Today, I look forward to readiing and discussing points of view from what seems a very mixed bag of of the human race.

Wellsir...upwards, onwards and outwards.

Welcome. A conservative working in the movie industry in LA. I'd call that a target-rich environment.
If you get a chance, ask Alec Baldwin why he's still living in the US. Bush won TWICE.

Alec Baldwin nothing. Ask Brad Pitt if he's interested in older women.

Funny you should say that. About once every two months, I am part of a get together at a place called "Shotzi's" (Arnold da Terminator owns it) and talk about things right of center with other Hollywood "Don't Ask. Don't Tell." conservatives. With a little 'social lubricant', after the 2000 election, we got together about $300 to rent a small U-Haul to stop by Alec's and, then, Barbra's to offer our moving services. We couldn't get past the guard gate in Bel Air. Oh, well....

Good for you. Liberals aren't used to being held accountable for statements that they make, though.

Hello, My name is Samantha and I am a Police Officer in the Great state of Georgia. I am a libertarian with some conservative leanings. I am a moderator on several Political Discussion sites and I saw this one and thought it looked pretty good. Anyway, I'm done. I hope to see you around.
