Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hi all,

Name's Dave and I currently live in Southwest Missouri in a small town of about 3500. Retired from the U.S. Navy in mid-04 and went to work as an EMS pilot for a local air ambulance service. After a year of that, I got itchy feet and went to work for a local power plant as a maintenance mechanic. Graduated in '87 from University of Michigan with a BSEE and went right into Naval Aviation, so I was never really an electrical engineer, but sort of have some of the mentality of one. I live on a small farm and intend to gradually build it up into a moderately profitable operation, as I am very interested in organic or mostly-organic farming. My political interests are based on my admiration of the U.S. Constitution (apologies due to non-U.S. members here) and my sense of urgency to educate people on what the Constitution says (not necessarily the same as what many people think it says). I'm a firm believer that the Constitution is sufficient guidance to conduct government, and that political parties are totally unneccessary. My bent is neither conservative nor liberal, but a mix. I guess I'm just a political mutt.

Neat site here! Can't wait to talk.

Welcome. If you're a true believer in the Constitution, then we're probably very similar in philosophical bent. I'm a Jeffersonian Liberal.

Hi I'm Chris.

I've had a long standing interest in Human Rights.

I've recently created a website called FreedomCafe.com based in the UK
I sincerely hope it does not clash with this site, as I've only just found this one, and it looks pretty good

It is still being developed and in the very early stages.
It is designed as a forum for discussion about pretty much anything (particularly issues surrounding human rights and civil liberties anywhere in the world)

If any of you have any suggestions about it then I'd love to hear them.

Kind Regards

Chris

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Evening everybody.

Mid-40s, happily married, two college age kids & one still at home.

I'm sick of the childish nonsense at PoliticalCrossFire Forums (I hope it's okay to say that here), so I'm just here to post, debate, read, yak, share ideas and have some fun.

I've multiple college degrees, but if I told y'all my vocation that'd take away half the fun of being here.

See ya around!

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hey all,

I just joined up here, have been reading on and off for a while. I'm from Dublin, Ireland, I work for a major US Multinational here and have had a longstanding interest in Irish and wolrdwide politics. I'm what many of you guy's like to brand as an anti-American. I'm actually not, i've spent a good bit of time in the states, i've enjoyed every second spent there and have great respect for the many friends i've gained over there. I despise George Bush and this administration and what it's doing in the world. I despise the war in Iraq (Yes I was one of the 100,000 people marching in Dublin against the war just before GWB invaded), I think the US has lost it's standing and respect in the world as result of it's actions post 9/11 and i'd love to see things be turned around in that respect. I'm definatley more left than right but can surprise people at times with some very hardline right wing views. I don't really believe in the labels for this reason but I suppose I lean to the left.

Looking forward to some good honest debate
