Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

I've been here a while, but don't believe I ever bothered to do this. Heeding Marc's admonition, I will only say I'm an old man with hopefully a young mind. I'm retired, never amonted to much as far as making a lot of money, have 3 kids, ( 1 by marriage, a deceased stepson, 2 of my own ), and 8 grandkids. I am of Scot's-Irish, English, Irish, and Coon Ass descent. Personally, as an aside, I say to you, Troop, use the tri-color, it's not anyones business if you do or don't.

I was raised a Democrat, in a state where Repubs were as afraid to come out of the closet, as queers were. That's now changed on both counts. The DIMS left me, the Repubs are trying to.

My interests are Genealogy, Service Rifle Match Shooting, collecting Diecast Automobiles, preferably the replicas of the vintage ones ( the real ones are way too expensive ) political forums of which this is just one, reading, Dixieland Jazz, and a host of other things as the mood strikes me. Having lived through the Second Big War to End All War, I jave little sympathy for the Krauts and Japs that tried like hell to kill my Dad. I've been to Korea, but not during combat. I was getting out of the Army about when 'Nam was really heating up. I have the highest admiration for the heros that fought there and especially for the many that did not come home alive, or in one piece.

Any further questions, feel free to ask. Oh, and BTW, if anyone doubts, I am proud to be a dyed in the wool, 110% gun afficiando. What do you not understand about 'shall not be infringed'. Sorry Marc, couldn't resist.

Y'all have a good day and a better one tomorrow.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hello there, I am a 38yo former citizen of the Peoples Republic of Liverpool, now exiled due to work, I have an interest in grassroot local politics and international current affairs.

Have I mentioned I'm a red-nose, a true Liverpool FC supporter, for all you Brits out there......... When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high.

A big hello to everyone....

Wow. I have 4 referrals now and I've been here less than a week.

You can tell I'm a leader, can't you? I should run for president.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hello everyone, it's very nice to meet you!

I am a California based engineer, business owner and political writer. I chose the username PatrickHenry because he was a great patriot, who understood that all politics aside, sometimes there is a heavy price to be paid for liberty.

I am very impressed with the quality of people and viewpoints at USPoliticsOnline, so I decided to join the community.

I'm looking forward to reading more of your opinions, and perhaps contributing a few viewpoints of my own. One thing I notice is, rather than just screaming and flaming at each other, many of you keep the dialog quite civil, and state your opinions with logic and respect. I really like that.

So.... I guess that's it for now, and I'm looking forward to see you out on the forum!

Best Wishes,
PatrickHenry

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hello everyone, I'm new here... Spend most of my time at another forum, but needed to find a place where I don't moderate to express my political views

I'm 25, up here in good old Michigan, USA. I run my own webhosting business, and am growing increasingly dissatisfied with my political choices. I find others' ideas in politics fascinating, especially non-us or non-mainstream folks.

Now, to lurk for a bit then try to help mix things up...

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hello David! Welcome to US P.O.L.!

I hope you find a happy second home here. It's a great place for exchanging ideas. Lot's of smart, opinionated people, but a nice vibe, and not a lot of nastiness. It makes for good conversation.

Again, Welcome!

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

So the front page of this "forum" is advertising for the communist supported sympathizers who wanted people to march against American Soveriency, huh?

As I remember it, those protests couldn't draw a crowd of flies in the liberal pile of trash called san francisco much less anywhere else in REAL America! *G*

OK, I'm WhiteKnight. Call Me WK.

I'll take a look around at what is being posted here and decide if it's more of the same trash as what was on the front page or if anyone on here has brains bigger than an amoeba. ya'll won't have any trouble knowing where I'm coming from.

Hey people. I'm 16. I go to high school. A lot of people would consider me to be liberal, but I'm very open-minded while still having strong opinions about most issues.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

I am Cecil. I'm a 23-year-old college student, having returned to school after becoming too physically disabled to work the jobs I'm "qualified" for. I am an Education major, hoping to specialize in teaching the Social Sciences in high school-- particularly psychology and sociology.

I'm a social democrat, favoring a solid mix of social services and business regulations and the innovation of the free market. A lot of my stances on certain issues are liberal, but I do not have a liberal outlook-- my stance is determined by pragmatism.

I am an Asatruar-- a Norse pagan-- and my religion influences a good deal of my thinking, politically and otherwise. I am unfortunately lax in practice because of a lack of fellow Asatruar in the region, but I hold the ideals close to my heart and try to live as honorably as I can. My other main philosophical influence is Transhumanism, a philosophy of human evolution through technology and progressive thought.

I am usually dissatisfied with American politics, because few parties are sufficiently Left for my tastes, economically, and those that come close carry other unpleasant baggage-- like the disarmament of the private citizen, undermining the effectiveness of our military, or soft-headed wishful thinking concerning crime. The Wyoming State Democratic Party is considerably more sensible on these issues.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

My name is Carrie, I'm 19, go to Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. I'm studying for a degree in engineering or architecture, i'm not sure yet.

I consider myself to be liberal, but i'm not necessary a democrat. I don't affiliate myself with any political party, because none of them support my views. I just recently got interested in politics, so I don't know as much as I would like to about different issues. That's why I joined this forum.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Maybe I should too, for I have been here for quite some time.
I am 23 yeat old history student from Finland, a small yet proud Nation of tall, blonde, and intelligent(Nokia) people. Something important to remember of me.. I am somewhat militaristic person, know all too well how to kill(My rank is Corporal, I am a recon/Guerilla/anti-tank/scout in the military) and know a lot of warfare.

I am uncommitted in the fields of politics, neither a leftist nor a rightwinged, but not in the center either. Joined here because NF, or Fasces, recommended this place. Place for irritation and laughter, that is for sure. Also this prepps my english nicely.
