Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Please, folks, this thread is for the sole purpose of introductions and "welcome to the forum" messages.

STOP the back and forth bickering. I just checked, and Hallmark doesn't make a "Sorry to hear your account just got suspended" card.......

I respect and love my wife, the nag. And I never say anything about her that I haven't already said to her (gives her a fair shot at me). I did notice the the humor. Hope you have too.

Better late than never. Welcome to USPOL. You'll find the discussions to be stimulating and frustrating all at the same time.

Welcome. New here myself, but there's one thing I've learned; Matt, who I don't know, but seems to have a great deal of power, doesn't like chit-chat in this thread. I suspect he has a magic twanger, probably a 1963 J.C. Penney's guitar with one string left. He plucks the magic twanger and POOF, there ya are; lost in cyber-space, yer name's Will Robinson and there's a robot waving it's arms yelling "Danger, Danger". So no chit-chat in this thread man, save it for the other threads.

Look at the time. It occurs to me that this has progressed past welcome into chit-chat....gotta go.....

Matt's a very fair moderator and a decent guy - the reason he spoke up was because a few of us (me included ) decided to use this thread to hit each other over the heads (metaphorically speaking, that is) for many, many posts over the weekend - those involved knew very well this is the "Intro" thread and we can let each other have it (within reason, of course) everywhere else but here. But we decided not to let the other person have the last word - so it went on and on and on. Our fault.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hmmm... I am really not good at these sort of things, but here goes.

I am 42. I spent 10 years in the army. I have done a lot of different occupations.. Lineman, Machinist, Welder, Electrician, Draftsman, Kitchen designer, Real Estate Broker, and currently own a business building recreational vehicles such as dunebuggies and Trikes.

Born and raised in the Vast Empty known as Western Kansas. Lived in the Ozark Mountains in Missouri ever since I was old enough to get the hell out of Kansas.

My main interests are History, Philosophy, Theology, and of course Politics.

My views are heavily libertartian influenced, but lean heavily to the right side of the spectrum. I am very hawkish, but oppose fighting wars using half-measures. Do the job right, or do not do it at all. Wage total aggressive warfare or none.

I have a very dim view of our current public education system, and have had my son in private school the last three years.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hey people.
I'm a 23-year-old agribusiness major at Mississippi State U. I view politics as a way for me to learn (and in some cases become dumber) and have fun talking about things that are exremely relevant to my life. I am a Classical Liberal (or Libertatian if you prefer). To be honest with all of you, I pretty much hate our government with every molecule of my being. Everyone feel free to debate with me on this forum (I guess that's what we're all here for, though).

Welcome
When you say "Classical Liberal", do you lean more towards Libertarian or more towards a Jeffersonian Liberal?
