Politically, I consider myself a moderate, being socially progressive and fiscally more conservative. I hope I can fit in well with you folks and look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts and opinions.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

I am new here... just found this website off Google after typing "political discussion" in the search box.

I'm a twenty-two year old college student from the Chicago area. In the last few months, I have made it a point to pay more attention to the news. I at times will browse through both the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times, get my news off the web (Yahoo, CNN, NYTimes, NYPost, Fox News, etc.), and get it from the TV (Fox News, CNN, ABC News, local news, etc.).

I do not feel I am either a republican or a democrat. I feel there are issues I am still confused about, and not sure which side I fully believe in. There are some points that I think liberals are correct in, while there are others that I believe conservatives are correct in.

The simple reason I am here now, is to observe the discussions, hopefully take part, and ultimately learn something... have a better understanding of our government, our country and our world.

Hi Board! I am Beer. I live and work in Philly. I stumbled upon this site through Google. I hope to participate in discussion with an open mind. Politics can get heated. But that is fine with me. Good to meet you all.

I think everybody here (or at least, all those that matter) already know and love beer.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

I've been here for a while now, but only just noticed this thread.

Great site, great members - VERY active forum, and I love that!!

Anyway I guess I've already introduced myself enough via other posts so I won't take up too much room here!

Cheers,
Rahul

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hi. A conservationist is someone who believes in nurturing and preserving nature as part of traditional values. I'm about half Conservative, half Liberal, but 100% behind the traditional Indo-European culture to which I belong. Fond of literature, philosophy, music and beer. Am looking forward to absorbing ideas from other people and finding others who believe our society's on the wrong path and needs a redesign.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Don't think I have ever posted in this thread.

US Army Retired (not ETS...I retired. Yes, there is a difference)

Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems, minor in Geology, and Associates in History.

Married, several rugrats, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a lot of holes and poop in my backyard. (from the dogs and cats, not the kids)

6 PCs in my home. (everyone has their own)

Hobbies until recently were:

Parachuting
Rock/Mountain climbing
Restoring Antique autos. I have restored 17 autos from the ground-up, to including, but not limited to the following: a Model A, a Buick identical to the one in "Rainman" minus the convertible top, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1969+formula+convertible Pontiac Firebirds, 1965 and 1967 Plymouth Barracudas, 1967 Cougar, 1965 Chevrolet Stepside (Long back window), 1967 GTO, and so on.

My current hobbies are canoeing, kayaking, camping, hiking, reading (I go through books like most people go through TV movies) Computers, Motorcycling across the country, and everything that involves my kids.

End
