My Name is Eric, I'm 21 and am a political science major at Northeastern University. I wanted to join a political discussion forum because I feel listening to other people's opinions will better help me learn arguments from both sides and hopefully will help me better understand US politics as well as international politics. Well, I am a foul-mouthed contrarian from Missouri, so Mr. Clemen's nom-de-plume seemd most fitting. Of course, his stuff still sells better than mine.

As for the Hunter Thompson salute, my actual writing style is much more influenced by him. Satire I get from Twain; verbal bombast I get from Thompson. As Hunter was WONT to say: "I piss down the throats of these Nazis!" I'll let everyone guess as to who the Nazis in this case are. . .

OK, I'm having a bit of a problem with an avatar... I have a slew of dressed tigers to choose from, but I can't seem to get any of them into the size required by your server... no matter what I do, I can NOT attain the 2.9KB limit... can anyone help?



more about me... I've just hit the big 6-0... ACK... I live in a small town on the edge of the San Francisco Bay... I'm not liberal, I'm not conservative, I'm in the middle somewhere... I'm a veteran and I volunteered for the war of my youth...

I used to be a republican... voted for Pat Buchanan back in '96... supported bush in his war with the taliban in afghanistan but stopped supporting him when he stopped looking for Osama Been Forgotten, and when he revved up to attack Iraq, a country that had nothing whatsoever to do with 9/11, I left the republican party...

but... that doesn't mean I like democrats either... cuz I actually don't like EITHER party... I'd like to belong to a party that actually represents the MAJORITY of americans... one that doesn't cater to the fringe elements be they rightys or leftys or retch... corporate interests... yeah, I know... I'm a dreamer...
